SO if a bigot uses a symbol then anyone who uses that sysmbol must be a bigot?
it depends upon how widespread/institutionalized the usage was, and how it was used. it wasn't just the kkk, many people were against civil rights for blacks. i point again to the flag being raised on the capitol only in 1962. its a symbol of a certain kind of image of the south to many. none of your examples have that sort of power, which is why they aren't issues at all.
HMMM.... well considering the black leadership (ala JESSE JACKSON) have been preaching that the flag is racist and the white man is the cause of all their problems that could be it.
i'm sure your generalizing. although he does point to the past, i'm sure he's for personal responsibility too. he maybe nuts, but not as nuts as you'd make him to be.
Also this country has gone from free speech to free speech as long as no one is offended. People LOOK for places to be offended and they have found it. We have gone to great lenths to show people WHO is to blame for there problems. If you really want to find bigory and hatred you can find it anywhere you look.
sure there maybe cases where people are oversensitive, but this is a case where there is a long history of reasons why they are justified in their stance.
