In 2012 I saw a designer iPad 2 case at Dillard's. It was ostrich print "Italian leather" and was more expensive than Apple's own leather SmartCover. My only thoughts were:
"all that and it's not even MFi-certified"
and
"Italy must have more ostriches running around than I thought"

I worked in Milan 1989-2000. I have returned for visits 3 times using the airline miles I accumulated in that period. I have enough for 1 more visit.

If I had more money I would have retired there.

Favorite restaurant is Harry's Bar in the piazza in Cernobbio.

no offense guys, but you who have visited have no idea what it's like to live there.
the north tends to be much better than rome, which in turn is better than the south; still, you would not be aware of the horrors of being an italian until you have experienced it.
 
I had a really good time. Deployed to Sicily for awhile, doing missions down to Africa in 2013. Lived just outside Catania. Hiked Mt. Etna on one of the few days it wasn't actually erupting. Traveled to Rome, and other various cities. While Sicily is the "armpit of Italy" I enjoyed it. I could go on and on, but the biggest take away was how skinny people were at the beach compared to America. Staggering. That and how small cars are. No trucks, no big cars at all. Simply no room for them on the roads. They would never be able to park or make turns downtown. I love seafood, that was that good. Water was amazing, so damn clear.

Started dating an Italian woman, after I came home I went back for a week to see her. Then she came here to see me. Then things didn't work anymore. Few things can rival the temper of a Sicilian woman, that's for sure.

I would love to go down in Paris's catacombs, but I guess their off limits. Been in there in the game Syphon Filter though. LOL

I guess there is a group pf people in Paris that know where to get into the catacombs and party down there.

I love it, but you guys need to take care of your monuments better. Without your tourist industry you guys are going to have some hard times coming up.

When I was last in Verona they were letting the amphitheater crumble to the ground just like the Colosseum in Rome. Sad that private funding has to come in to help.

ItaliaRail also goes on strike too much too 😉 Other than that though, great place, amazing mountain ranges, super nice people! amazing food.

I think [thread=2426161]your legal system is insane[/thread]. Here, we are "innocent until proven guilty", and if we're acquitted of a crime even once we can't be tried again for the same crime. We've even made movies about the concept.
