I worked for a company who gave out $20 Wal-Mart gift cards, and then turned around and took up money for a local charity. Everyone was "encouraged" to give, so most donated the gift card given to them the same day.

I have also worked for companies which did not give anything at all.

Currently I get about $200, and while I would love 1% or more of my salary, anything is appreciated as long as it's given in the proper spirit. There are a lot of people who don't have jobs right now, and anyone who would complain about a Christmas bonus should be reminded of that.

In '99 I started at a job that did bonuses twice a year.

It was a percent based off your salary that was based off of profits.

The 4 years I worked there I received on average $4-5k per bonus before taxes, half that after.

After getting laid off in '03 due to downsizing, I have since then never received a "Christmas" bonus.

:(

no bonuses. We usually get a gift at the company party, this year it was a nice fleece blanket with the logo on it.

We get good-really good raises once a year and that's it. I don't mind. I'd rather that then a bonus and no raise.

Mine last year was $7500 before taxes. Very good bonus compensation where I work usually. It depends on how long you been there and the position you hold of course.

However this year EVERYONE is getting ZILCH, NOTHING, NADA. It hurts because most everyone at our company is hourly paid and the bonus is a huge part of your expected pay.

With my bonus last year I came out to 53k gross, now this yeat I'm going to make about 33k. Nothing like a 20k pay cut right when you have your 1st kid too.

Oh and we get no raises this year either.

TERRIBLE.

400 so he walks with at least 250+ after taxes.

No raise (not even a COLA) or bonus for me this year!

Usually it's about 1k (a single pay check). But our shares also open so I can cash them any time, which is usually about 4-5k. So in total I'm hoping to have about 6k to play with. I owe about 5k on my loan and once that is paid off I then have to pay 5k for my furniture, then I'm debt free other then the mortgage. That will be nice. Then I can save up to do various house projects that I've been wanting to do such as my server room, insulating my garage + running a sub panel, maybe upgrading my electrical service while I'm at it, etc.

We usually get a big gift basket with crackers and cheese and all that shit. I just put it in the kitchen and my roommate eats it all; I don't like that stuff anyway.

So....you don't eat anything wheat or flour-based. NO bread of any kind. NO pizza. No "dough" so to speak.

Nor do you eat dairy products. At all. ("...and all that shit...")

So, what DO you eat in order to stay alive?

I don't get any end of year bonuses but rather end of quarter. It depends on your overall performance and my company rewards people for doing things beyond the scope of their job responsibilities. I got close to 9k this year plus some extra doodads.
Today we have our christmas party. I wonder if they're going to give anything out there.

I'm trying a similar diet...you can eat all the meats and veggies your heart desires. Which is way more difficult than it sounds.

Also, I get a 3-4% bonus based on my last years total earnings, so I'd say 1% at a minimum. They put it in our paycheck and it gets roughly lopped in half though...

Probably just meat. An Atkins disciple. About 40% of Americans are on a diet like this.
