He doesn't seem to derive much pleasure at being told about her exploits, so more likely he just feels humiliation at being unemployed/stay-at-home dad and has an associated desire to be degraded. Allowing his wife to do this, and subsequently writing a news article about it accomplishes that degrading twice. Sucks for his kids that he's doing it in such a public fashion and they'll be forever linked to it when they're completely innocent bystanders.

Hit a little too close to home? How did you and your dad handle your mom whoring around town?
<Edit: Retort removed because you got modded while I was replying...>

You want to get into personal insults, I'll be happy to filet your ego to your heart's content.

Or, you could just admit what a bigoted piece of shit you are and move on.

Jealousy? Maybe.

But comparing the effort required to get laid as your "average" (read: below average per most women) male to getting laid as your average woman is comical at best.

The male won't be getting laid.

But most slut shaming is done by women against other women.
What does effort have to do with anything? Take male celebrities that have some of the finest pussy on the planet tripping over themselves to get with them. Are we to assume you think those guys are gross for enjoying themselves?

Eh, this is not an open marriage. If he was screwing around as well, then it would be an open marriage.

This man is a cuckold.

I personally know a guy who lost count after woman #100 and thinks he may be closing in on #200. Considering he's been hit on by random women every time I've gone out with him, I believe it.

I also consider him to be a man whore. There's enjoying one's self and then there's excess.

However, he's not married and if all his female companions are in it for the quick bang and are satisfied with just that then no harm, no foul. Were he married, my opinion of him would be the same as the author's wife -- someone who wants to have it both ways and doesn't respect their partner.

I think if the partner is cool with it you can't really say they don't respect their partner. I don't like cheating/cheaters, so I get that, but slut shaming just needs to stop. We men benefit from more women that are comfortable with their sexuality rather than ashamed of it.

You mean while openly admitting you wish you were in their place?

I don't though. I would hate for my private life to be so public, and usually the famousness is the cornerstone of the sexual allure.

Even if we are just talking about the 5% of guys who are hot and can sleep with whoever they want, I wouldn't want that either. My best friend was in that group and he could never have solid relationships (always someone else trying to get in the way or he battles the woman's insecurities) and it completely fucked up his priorities when it comes to women. It also held back his mental maturity, which effected his career. Eventually the lack of stability damaged his health and his lost some hair and his claim to that 5%. He is happier now.

Maybe in a frat house the standard is the coolest guy is the one who nails a bunch of chicks, but that isn't my opinion. All of the random sexual encounters I have had in my life pale compared to the comfort level when I have sex with my wife. I never feel vulnerable or like I have to put on a show, and I don't have to deal with any drama when emotions get out of check.

Someone else can be a man whore, I don't aspire to that life personally.

My shaming isn't reserved for women, it's towards people who can't handle things responsibly and take them to the extreme.

In the case of the author of this article, it's clear he's convinced himself his wife's promiscuity is in his own best interests. I'm not a fan of open relationships but if two people can successfully pull it off and are truly happy, then more power to them. However, in this author's case, his wife was on her way to having an affair, came to him about it, and pushed for an open marriage. He capitulated and wears the decision as "feminism." It's because of all this my opinion based on this limited information is that his wife does not respect him.

I'm all for women and men not feeling ashamed for exploring their sexuality so long as they do it responsibly and don't let it get out of hand, no different than drinking alcohol, gambling, etc.

Who's bigoted? There's nothing wrong with whoring. It's an honorable profession, like firemen and teachers.

If someone's parent, mom or dad, enjoys getting pumped by the NY Jets offensive line every night, there's nothing shameful about that, assuming there partner is cool with it (i.e. feminist). No child should be ashamed of a parent getting gangbanged on a regular basis. You wouldn't feel bad about your dad kissing you on the cheek good night after taking multiple loads of the baby batter from roving groups of homeless veterans, would you?

I know you wouldn't dank69, because you're not a bigot. You even have the number 69 in your handle, wow! I can see you're really committed to social equality.

If a couple wants an open marriage? Cool, go for it. Doesn't affect me any. But this guy is a douchenozzle trying to make it a feminist issue to mask his feelings of inadequacy, when it has nothing to do with feminism.

Cuckoldry is one of the more bizarre things I've ever heard. Understanding the appeal it is just literally beyond me.

I read this the other day, and realized later, that feminism isn't the issue.
Instead, the "man" writing this piece clearly is enjoying taking on a feminine role, and gets dominated by his wife, who takes the role of the man.
I'd argue that the actual sex doesn't matter for feminism to come into play, and instead it's the chosen roles that should be taken into account.
The way this guy takes it in the rear, makes him the very thing feminism tries to battle: A weak, underprivileged part of a family, completely dependant on the bread-winner, with no equality, no standing and no authority. Him claiming to be a feminist is a travesty, moreso than his lifestyle already is.

I'm not saying he hasn't got the right to live his life the way he wants, or to impose upon his wife some weird standard of behavior. If this works for them, more power to them. But getting societal issues mixed up with their own personal dominance/submission fantasies is absurd.
