Not everybody is capable of successfully completing higher education and I realize that. I also recognize that this situation has gone so far that unless people attempt to mitigate their personal situations they will never rise above their circumstances. You're right so far as it goes but so what? If everybody went back to school & got degrees we'd still have the same societal problem only with higher expectations that can't be met.
It's all tied up in the idea of ownership & what that entails, both in terms of privilege & obligation. What America is demanding from the ownership class is jobs in the face of their decreasing need for our labor. It's like trying to drink whiskey from a bottle of wine.
They won't lead us where we want to go. Hedge fund ownership assumes no greater social obligation than what we impose.
Trying to take one class per semester versus sitting around and complaining is the difference between getting somewhere with a plan and remaining trapped in place. I know people who took 10 years to get their BS but they kept on chipping away at it until they achieved it. I don't have any sympathy for people who just sit around complaining rather than actually trying to better themselves.
Personally I love the kiosks which allow me to select what I want when I order and pay which is super convenient. Fast food is just as the name implies and this service performs this function. Speed and accuracy are enhanced by this method and I believe that any fast food restaurant seeking to improve service will add them to relieve employees from having to deal with the public in this way so they can be reassigned to other jobs.
