I got the same error on 1 of the systems I tried to run DPAD.

In playing around with my system, muon1.exe & muon1.scr would cause this error.

I was able to launch muon1_cmdline.bat and muon1_background.exe without getting the error.

I have since stopped running DPAD on just that system and am concentrating on SETI, Rosetta & F@H. (just on that 1 system, I still have DPAD running on 7 others ;) )

I think I can say with AUTHORITY that no one here at TA would have any objections with you recruiting some pals to crunch with us.

Running either muon1 or muon1.scr is basically just eye candy. "Just for show". Both those processes run up to 10x slower than the background or command line processes. I run the background process, and as you can see from my stats have been putting up some impressive numbers. If you can (and I'm asking, please :)) run one of those.

cheers,

Welcome :)
So what do you crunch with?

welcome chapbass :)
Sorry to here about your grandfather :(
Nice C2D rig :) ,have you tried for higher than 2.8GHz?

thanks for the welcome assimilator.

nope, havent really. when i go any higher with my memory (the 115$ ddr2 533 super talent stuff over at the HD forum), the thing just doesnt boot at all. guys over at the OC forums were sayin that its probably voltage on either the mem or the proc (everything is at stock atm).

so when its a rainy day, thats the plan!

On the contrary we'd be delighted if you enlisted new recruites :D:cool:

I now have DPAD and FH running on my system. With DPAD, can I just kill the process and when i start it back up it will resume where it left off? Or what? Thanks

By default, DPAD saves its work every 4 minutes to file. While that is a configurable parameter (see the config.txt file) you should have minimal isues with lost work.

Hi gvrugby!

When running DPAD, what name do you use? I am asking because I am keeping track of the TeAm stats and can not see you there ...
If you have not done so, would you please pu the characters [TA] infront of your name please? such as [TA]gvrugby :)

Very welcome!

In this post I have checked the stats to see which crunchers have joined the TeAm. I also check the posts in this thread ... If your name is not listed, please be patient: your results may not have made the stats yet (sometimes that takes quite a few hours), or I have not had the time to check the stats or I have not yet updated this post.

Joining the TeAm is not hard, but sometimes things may go wrong. Therefore please make sure that you follow the instructions carefully. E.g., when joining DPAD, please put the [TA] infront of your name, when joining Folding@home choose TeAm 198 and with BOINC-projects please join the team by going to the team page and thre clicking the Join team-link.

Please post if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or just to say hello!
We will do our best to answer.
If you want to chat or to NEF (What is NEF? ), please look in the please delete-thread ... ;)

Edit:
added new crunchers for Rosetta@Home

OT: Assimilator1... Would you prefer I walked, jogged or sprinted past you in DPAD? :D

Either way, It's going to happen before my DPAD crunching is up the end of the month. ;)

Hey everyone, I just rejoined the TA F@H team. I was a member before, but that was probably years ago. My old points/Wus/whatevers were still there, so that was pretty cool. :) My hobbies have shifted from computers to cars since I was an AT regular, but I try to swing by every once in a while.

I'm in my second semester of college (University of Nevada, Reno) as an undeclared engineering major. I may consider switching to computer science, though. School is tough, and it's tough not to let my project cars distract me, but I'm doing my best to charge through.

I'll be supporting the TeAm with my Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop and an old AMD system I built years ago. It's kind of pathetic that I can't even remember the specs for either of these machines anymore! Everything I've learned about cars must have taken place of the stuff I knew about computers.

Anyway, it's good to be back. See you all around!

Hey Assimilator, do you have all your systems crunching DPAD? If so, your production seems very low...

lol about car info replacing PC info.
Well I'm a mechanic who knows a fair bit about PCs ,so where does that leave your theory?;) heheh

Oh & welcome back to TA :)

Amaroque
No ,all but 1 of my remote rigs run S@H.
Only my main PC & my 2nd PC run DPAD along with a friends Ath64 3700 I very recently assimilated (its not 24/7 either).
I've just realised I haven't added the 3700 to my list.

If I have both my rigs going 24/7 (doing so just this week;)) then I should get about 42,000 Mpts/day.

DPAD for sure: no downloads necessary, and whenever you get to a good connection somewhere, just take the results.txt file on your usb drive and send them off. :)

In a certain way also CPDN: One monster download at the beginning and then nothing for the next months (depending on system speed) besides the really tiny trickles.

Though it doesn't yet compare to a recruiting drive in 2002 ;)

No it does not - yet. ;)
But seti does not seem to be very hot just now --- we need to make it hotter somehow.
Ideas? :Q

How do I temporarily stop F@H say when I'm gaming. I clicked End Process in Task Manager for both F@H services and apparently, it corrupted the WU. Both WUs never finished and I got a new WU. And I was so close to finishing my first WU.:(

I think it will properly shut down if you use the "Services" app from "Administrative Tools" in the Start Menu.
