Dammit woman I gave you the ring so you'd shut your mouth. Screw this wedding planning bullsh!t.

Just go with her to pick stuff out but other than that it's up to her and her Mom. If they ask your opinion, give it. Otherwise just STFU and have a

Trust me on this! :D

I have already learned the most important lesson: my opinion means sh!t.

Yeah, but at least you made an effort. Even if you are paying for it. It's better this way.

Looks like we might have a place for the reception. :)

Going to be expensive, but they have multiple Italian chefs and Italian food rules. :)

wedding planning was the most stressful 8 months of my life... and my wife was doing most of the planning.

We're lucky our women actually want to marry us.

i want an ultra-simple wedding -- my parents, his parents, and us. i might rent someplace afterwards to invite people to (finger food at most). i'd rather save for a down payment/morgage on a house. hellfire, the wedding is only one day of my life, it's the marriage that matters.

Well we've got a place for the reception and a priest so far. Just have to work out a deal with the caterer and that will be covered as well.

Just make sure you have the right girl!

edit: I think when my own wedding comes...i'll just tell her that I want it as simple as possible.

"As simple as possible" Yep, we tried that. Then mom-in-law got in on it, lived vicariously through my wife, and had a rather elaborate wedding. In the end, it was magnificent and many people claimed it was one of the best they had attended.

Good luck nonetheless!

You should talk with my fiance, minendo. Seriously.

I was giving him a hard time today because I'm meeting up with some people to discuss a potential wedding in Paris tomorrow (they tied the knot there a year ago and I was hoping for some tips/advice/words of wisdom). I asked my fiance to come along and he told me to handle it... you're getting married too, dammit!

I agree with JH... the only thing I *did* help with was choosing the caterer, and it was b/c it amounted to a free meal. I told my wife that she had the eye for style etc, and unless she wanted it to look like a guy had some say in the decorating & planning, to pick things out herself.

Not every woman is the same that way though - some get pissy if you take the back seat when it comes to planning. Heck I know guys that did ALL the planning while the girl sat back and did jack squat. I guess it all depends on how much you can get away with in your situation.

i got yelled at so many times during my wedding planning process

what ticked me off was that the wedding was ultra-expensive and I was so nervous the whole night that I barely ate and drank

Wish it were that easy.

However, we are considering Vegas for the Honeymoon. Not sure if I want to head out to Vegas or New Orleans though.

I'd pick Nawlins over Vegas any day. You're going to be poor enough as a married couple anyway...no need to squander what little cash you have on a blackjack table. :)

New Orleans is being considered as well because they have a Casino down there. :p
