How's the view from back there in the cheap seats?

You totalled a car "grazing" a utility pole?

You'd be suprised what sheetmetal goes for.

You'd be surprised how reliable the bullshit detectors on this forum are. '99 Neon vs. Mack truck. Whole front end smashed in. $3500 to fix. Any car worth reselling is going to be worth more than that.

They total it when you hit 80%.

On a dodge, that's not very hard.

Hey, I have an idea. Instead of going back and forth beating your chests, post a picture of the damn car after you 'grazed' the pole.

Back off, he's my kill. I can go on like this for DAYS without even getting really annoyed. But knowing PhyschoAndy's Brother here, he'll get frustrated and cry and come break my windshield and give me plenty of justification to put a bullet through his forehead in self-defense.

Hell, that brings up another interesting point. Why the hell are you PAB? Do you really have no identity of your own, that you have to associate yourself with your brother to be anybody?

And 80% to total a car worth $8500 (which was your above cited insurance payout) is $6800. It takes a LOT more than "grazing" a pole to do $6800 in damage to a car like a Neon.

I hit a curb doing 40 as well.

No curb capable of doing any appreciable damage at 40mph is shallow enough for a Neon to climb. Make all the excuses you want. It just shows that you're just a pathetic little tit looking for acceptance - which you're not going to find on this forum, and you sure as fvck aren't going to find in me.

That's not appreciable damage. Those "rims" may as well be free. They're tiny little steelies.

What insurance fraud? Look at the numbers.

Structure: 100k
Contents: 100k
ALE: 50k
Personal Injury, Integra Crash - 8500
Personal Injury, Neon Crash - 8500
Persopal Property, Neon Crash - 2000

Theft Loss, Generator - 2000

Thats about $271,000 that State Farm has had to eat over the past 3 years. I'd say thats par for the course.

I love how that Neon that he had had for 3 days suddenly had $2000 worth of personal property in it that was somehow destroyed in a sideswipe and how there are now $8500 in injuries in that crash. He's such a stoic to have been so injured and not mention it once in the two weeks the thread ran here about the Neon crash.

Par for the course? Maybe if you're a rock star that drives Rolls Royces into swimming pools for fun.

Consider this. Insurance companies are in it to make a profit. Have you paid them $271,000 over the past 3 years? No. You're a bad customer.

If someone PM's me the details on who this is, I am a State Farm agent and will make sure the claims department is notified..... I can only see the person is Crazy Andy for the UAE??? Thanks!

Ok, maybe you can help me out.

Why is it that SF markets a policy as replacment cost, when in actuality the policy pays MARKET VALUE or ACV or whatever you guys want to call it on damaged property, and then has an additional rider on the back end to subisidze replacement.

I don't call that replacement cost at all. How does SF get away with calling it like that, and what are your thoughts?

I don't know what state you live in and insurance is state regulated (policies differ from state to state). Based on you mentioning hurricanes & PIP (no-fault) auto claims, I'm assuming you live in Florida (same as me)?

In FL the policies are the way they are because the Dept of Financial Svcs & Gallagher... who you can vote against this year (running agains Crist).

You get replacement cost on your policy when you replace an item. If you choose not to replace an item, you get the cash value. Do you have any ideas how many delapedated neighborhoods were left when people cashed out during the hurricane Andrew gravy train in 1992?

Did you not replace / repair said items to receive full replacement cost? The insurance industry is setup to indemnify people (get you back to where you were), not for people to profit or cover their hurricane deductible with the margins / deals they can find.

That's great. Because what happens when you have people who don't have the money to replace the items they lost?

SF refuses to pay for the replacement cost of the item, instructs the insured to replace the item, and when the insured can't replace the item because they're broke - its the insured's fault. Thats great marketing.

What happens when you have truly irreplaceable merchandise?

PAB, whoever you are, please by all means check around the state of Florida (is that where you are from?).... This replacment cost is allowed by the state legilature and is done by every insurance company I know in the state. After hurricane Andrew (1992), there were boat loads of peole in South Florida that made out like badits. They received a fat check for 250K and left the house in ruins and moved to another city / state. Guess what, the HOA's, Condo Associations, cities, and the state don't want that to happen again. Did you replace your items?

Let me tell you how it worked for a lot of clients in central Florida after the 04 hurricanes. Client goes to furniture store and expalins claim (like thousands of others). Pays for 1/2 of item, get receipt, faxes to insurance comany, gets other 1/2 of money, furniture store delivers.

If you have a problem with the system, vote against Gallagher who created the mess in FL in the homeowner's industry. If you chose not to replace your contents / roof, you have a cash value policy (it's in black in white).

Jackasses.

Just FYI.... SF underwriters do not take into account an act of god for a claims cancellation (i.e. hurricanes)... You cars can be cancelled separately from the home. Are you getting a warning letter or a cancellation letter? What line auto or home? You are very vague??

I'm negotiating supplemental. I pitched a bitch about diminished value and how their numbers were way off.

Oh, its improbable for me to have $2000 in personal property? That's rich.

Oh, and for two people in the car - $8500 dosen't go far. If I had crashed into the 76 year old like eyemwing had suggested, figure $20k each person all around.

How did you manage to have to PIP (personal injury protection) claims at 8500 each? PIP covers injuries, loss of wages, etc..? Is 8500 the max in your state? What state do you live in?
