Whatever. After a few hours I am sooooo done with this. Going into it, I knew aiming would be a bitch, but I wish I had known that it's 50/50 whether elevators will even work while in a dive. I'm sure there is some technical reason for them barely working when I need them most, but I don't care. I'm just looking for a good game to play and I was in arcade mode. I appreciate realism in gameplay, but not to that extent. I feel like I would need a pilots' license to begin to appreciate this game, though a lifelong obsession with flight sims might also cut it.
It's a game with a huge learning curve, especially newbies if they've never played a flight game of any kind.
I have embraced the kb/mouse setup in warthunder. I did remap the W/S to the elevator controls since the mouse wheel already controlled throttle.
I'm hoping to get into this game soon...and this thread has a lot of posts. Is there a best control scheme? I have an Xbox360 controller and (obviously) mouse + kb.
DERPWorld of War Planes beats out War Thunder. War Thunder felt like a cheap knock off of WoWP.

Tried this game over the weekend. Fun. Quick and easy to get into. Mechanics and physics reminds me alot of ace combat.
Got a "gift" plane but can't figure out how to load it up. I'm the right level but I cant order it. Any ideas?
It is already "ordered" you click on the down arrow of it in the research pane. That should put it into a slot in your hanger, replacing another plane.
You should have a gift 1 level from the first air force you played.
Every time I deal with Wargaming I end up wanting to shake a baby. That plus WoWP's reputation as a joke meant I didn't even give it a try.
And it is a simple fact that WT is almost a full year older than WoWP. If anything, WG ripped off Gaijin.
Troll moar.
Just picked this game up last week. A lot of issues are fixed that I had before, and tons of new fighters to keep my loadouts free of bombers.

Wasn't trolling. I'd call you a name in return, too, but apparently it's against the rules to insult people on this forum. Should probably reconsider your knee-jerk reaction.
You're dissing a game you haven't even played, and you're calling ME a troll?
Laugh.
I've played WoWP through the beta at different times. I am utterly shocked to find out they intend to release it as a final product this month. It isnt anywhere near ready for release. It is barely alpha quality. And compared to War Thunder a laughing stock.
