And I like shopping at 2am. Or need a tool at 3am to fix something, there open.
But, no, I don?t like Walmart, the way they treat their people. For a company that all the owners are billionaires, walmart passes health care onto you and me via Medicare. And FINALLY congress smells a rat in that policy. Hopefully, they can do something.

I have tried to wean myself off walmart. I go to 24 hr grocery stores more, or Walgreen?s rather than walmart. And...what I'm finding (to my shock) is local 24 hour grocery stores often have many many items a lot less than walmart. People just assume Wal-Mart?s is the cheapest, but not so.

I seen a tv docu special on walmart. how the price fix.
Say you want a micro oven. Walmart has a very simple basic one for a low low price. But what they count on, and it works for them, is when you're looking at the cheapo micro wave. Then you look next to it at the next one up. More features, looks a little nicer. So you go for the mid range micro. Well, the walmart price of those other micros, past the basic cheep one, is higher than you'd find anywhere else. Thats how they do it.

Woops, gota run. Need something from walmart!

Interesting show... I've always felt something was up with the pricing.

Do you know what it's called or what channel it was on?

Exactly.

If they have what I need, and it's cheaper than other places, they have my business.

We shop there for certain items that we know they have the best price on. But we don't go there for normal everyday shopping.

I hate Walmart, but I do go there a couple times a year. For one, they're the only general store open 24 hours. I've also looked for toys there for my daughter.

Medicare or Medicaid? Medicare is for old folks and Medicaid is for some other folks. Remember?

Yes, they are the only department store in my area. The nearest K-Mart, Target, etc. is over 2 hours away.

How would you classify it? I was going to use the word department but settled on general instead.

Have not set foot in one for years. I can get anything I want at numerous other stores, with better service, better quality.

Depends on what you're buying, I guess.

They carry many, many name brands......

why?

1) Just about everyone I have been inside has been dirty or otherwise unorganized and messy.
2) Employees, for the most part, seem to be the most incompetent in the indusry.
3) Lack of quality selection. They have tons of crap, but not a lot of selection.
4) Low quality goods. Even Wal-Mart themselves have stated this and want to change.
5) Personal preference not to shop in a mega-store type thing. I go to a grocery store for groceries, a tire store for tires, clothing stores for clothing and so forth.
6) Customer service is the lack
7) Awful produce and their meats are probably the worst selection in the industry.

1) Never had that problem
2) Who cares?
3) Depends on what you're looking for
4) Depends on what you're looking for; they carry many name brands at cheaper prices than.. everybody else.
5) Same here, but like I said.. If they have something I need and the price is cheaper, they have my business.
6) Who needs customer service while shopping?
7) We don't have a super walmart, so no produce.. They have a very limited selection of food otherwise.. Just the basics. But it's name brand stuff(besides Sam's Choice stuff, of course), and most of it is cheaper than even our ultra ceap grocery store, WinCo... Compared to a place like Safeway or Albertsons, there's no comparison.

I buy cat litter and catfood there(Arm & Hammer and Purina One), some basic foodstuffs..

They have awesome prices on charcoal briquettes. I've bought a lot of name brand hardware and household items there. Work lights, extension cords, replacement fluorescent tubes, spraypaint, storage tubs, lawn and gardening supplies..

The only difference between these things at Wal-Mart and other places, as long as you stick with name brand, is price. Go look at some of those things at Home Depot and report back.

I don't care for a lot of Wal-Mart's practices, how they treat employees, etc... But I have to be conscious about my wallet, too.
