I dunno what tweaks cause this but this is super snappy! Pages load instantly as if it was Chrome but it's actually Firefox based :D

Sort of the same feeling I had when I first installed Pale Moon back in the day when it was really faster than Firefox but then went down hill in terms of speed due to their outdated Gecko Engine and now most add-ons won't work!

All my add-ons work flawlessly with Cyberfox and I love its interface.

Mind you, out of the box, it look exactly like Firefox but without the bloat like Crash Reporter, Health, etc, yet you can customize it to your liking with Classic Theme Restorer but the plus point here is its speed and more privacy (has a lot of extra search engines like Startpage which gives you Google based results minus the Google tracking)

New Edit: K....I will keep this for another 5 mins, but as I expected, it only let me import my stuff from IE which I almost never use, not PM.

Not my infinite PM bookmarks, PWs, other settings. I did get the 64-=bit for intel.....but I totally resent having I have to do transfer all of the above manually for this or any other new browser.....the time that would require!!!

Hold on....just found sumthin this browser offers called Migrate Buddy or sumthin related. I got it and it lists Pale Moon (browser #3). See below.

Not sure how to use it. Can anyone pls say? Maybe I should wait to uninstall this thing until I find out what I can migrate from PM, what I can configure and try to learn the reality of this thing.

Can someone pls help? I can not figure out where to enter the new profile path for PM in the Browser's main file and I looked everywhere. Sigh.

Sorry, I am unhappy and confused. Using this migrate Buddy BETA, I now get. Only one thing, it's been running forEVER and NEVER FINISHES.

I do not get any of this! All wanna do is MIGRATE.

zwm8tc.png

K, I stopped the Migrate buddy cause it was on a shorted out treadmill to nowhere. Now, when I try to open this new browser I get error message saying yr profile can't be loaded it may be missing or inaccessible.

Kinda like my SANITY, OK?

I will now uninstall this new thingy and clean my registry. Am sure it just rocks for others, but it only brought me PMS.

Edit: GONE, CLEANED! FINIS. Maybe I missed sumthin re the Migrate Profile Buddy Beta. Maybe it works flawlessly. For Mark Zuckerberg. If anyone has better luck with this thing, I would so appreciate yr posting!!!!

I tried. I failed. Then, I dumped all of it. :|

Just export your bookmarks as an html file, then import that file into Cyberfox. You will then need to reinstall whatever addon's you might use (for those coming from Firefox, don't bother with ClassicThemeRestorer as it is essentially built in to Cyberfox.

did you watch the video tutorial for it?

https://8pecxstudios.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=350

perhaps you should have located your PM profile(s) before trying out Profile Buddy.

Also, a very easy way to migrate without using any tool. Is use the Mozilla Sync tol (not sure how it works with Pale Moon) but for me, I simply logged in Cyberfox with my Mozilla account in the Sync section under Options, and everything was migrated, add-ons, bookmarks, settings, you name it.

Also, if you need more help customizing it to look exactly like I did, I can help you.

Cyberfox has a built in CTR customized Add-On (CTR = Classic Theme Restorer)

1) Download my customized settings for CTR

2) Launch Cyberfox

3) Click on the Cyberfox icon on the top left to bring down the menu

4) Now click Customize Cyberfox

5) Now click Settings > Import Preferences

6) Navigate to where you downloaded the CTR Settings and select it

Don't give up so soon, once you have it setup, you will love it as it's not a totally different browse like Pale Moon has become, it is Firefox Minus the useless bloat such as Data Reporting stuff and is based on the same engine so compatibility wise, there will never be issues with any add-ons.

Additionally, their forums is very good as the developer replies quickly and is very polite unlike the arrogant staff at Pale Moon forums whom if you complaint that something is not working they will tell you to contact the software developer of whatever add-on/app you are using to make them support Pale Moon (which offcourse, they won't)

Cyberfox updated to v33.0.3 today. Just Run the installer and let it install over the older version, no need to uninstall / reinstall.

Sigh. Indeed, that's the normal, standard way, and I thank U for reminding me.

Fact is, when I saw Berryracer's happy account of this browser I nevah heard of, I felt I should get it, but was also filled with new resetment re Pale Moon Face.....cause I truly did fall in love with Pale Moon and still do not wanna give up on it. I expected to remain in love forever.:|

Maye I will get Cyberfox 64-bit Intel again, try to feel less resentment, migrate the old school way and try to remain open and objective.

Thanks again.:)

No, I did NOT. WAS TOO FILLED WITH RESENTMENT. That colors everything. Even before I downloaded the file I already hated all of it, even just that I was downloading the file to begin with.

Still feels like terrible capitulation and being forced to give up on smuthin I have loved for a long time...mainly, cause YOU turned us onto it whenever. But, if I can change my attitude, I will start anew.

Thank you for all of the above! But I still refuse to watch the video.

Finally, if I can't run my Lavafox Red, that, right there is a deal breaker. The blue and gray, I can not bear. Despite I wear Jeans all the time cept when I have to get dressed up.

K, when I divest me of this intense resentment....I may give it another go.

Thanks.

Vigorising, I can tell you the icon for Cyberfox is much more attractive - does that help? ;)

OMG! this...is the cutest thing I have experienced all day!!!! Cept it's subjective......I hated both the default blue and the icon immediately, tho is the new icon more sophisticated than the amateurish one in PM? Yes!

I only wanna C an icon on my desktop and in my systray when the browser is open. Other than that I wanna RED... molten RED field in the GUI. LavaFox red.

Gotta say, this is some worldclass community....kind and brilliant humans here nourishing/augmenting/restoring normalcy, and actually helping me get rid of the hatred/resentment which marked & contaminated this whole thing for me yesterday. Please know how grateful I am just for that!

One more: the one thing that did impress me bigtime: that this browser has not only the usual platform specific versions, it has CHIP SPECIFIC versions. Even growling and filled with resentment.....that did impress me a lot. I give props for this and what it reflects.
___________________________________________
Update: K my PM bookmarks are on my desktop. but I have to play certain musics and dance around to get rid of the resentment residue: Jill Scott, Jersey Boys sound track. When it is gone I will move forth.

K, I watched the video. I resent his British accent. Jus sayin.

+1, much more attractive than an orange fox which should be a Chrome Sheep by now and much better than that poorly rendered pale moon

berryracer, don't you mean v33.0.2?

Yes sorry, my bad.

Get it up and running, use it, feel the speed in the Intel optimized version then tell me how you feel.

I never gave you bad advice, remember when I convinced you to try Pale Moon which I was the first supporters of? Then they had to spoil it once they decided that they no long wanna be a Firefox fork and wanna be a browser on their own, dunno what they're trying to prove, but it ain't workin' and it never will, many companies have way too many browsers to support and make addons for the last thing they want is to support some new swedish developer.

That being said, Cyberfox will not run into that problem since it uses the Firefo Geckon engine and always updated the same time FF is updated so you're always getting the benefits of the new FF engine + compatiblity + Cyberfox's own optimizations.

The developer of Cyberfox is also working on a profile backup tool which should be out soon hopefully. For now I use Hekasoft Backup & Restore with the Cyberfox mod to backup / restore when I want.

PS: If you really don't wanna do a lot of tweaking, I have installed Cyberfox, added AdBlock Plus, changed it a bit to make it look like Firefox 29 and saved the profile. I didn't touch a thing so it's a spanking new Cyberfox profile ready to use out of the box. If you are interested, let me know and I'll upload the backup for you so you can easily restore it and start out easier by simply adding your lavafox theme and other addons/bookmarks, wouldn't take you more than 3 minutes trust teh meh

K....Yes I remember every mm of all of it! I have uber memory....everyone says. Cept I am back to feeling hatred and resentment: first, see below, seriously??? I gotta register somewhere to just get my LavaFox red?

Next, where is the LIBRARY button in this new FOREIGN thingy I still resent having to hook up with? How can I import all my stuff now on my desktop in the right format, unless I can find the LIBRARY BUTTON?

Got a new copy of that DOES NOT FUNCTION Buddy Migrating thingy with the guy with the fake British accent. I am going to try to use it again.

29mvgxy.jpg

K.....forgive me, I am addlepated and pissed. The library button on the bottom is clear as day. Resentment precluded my eyes from moving to the bottom of the GUI. Only one thing: I chose to import the HTML file parked on my desktop and now do not see where to move forward. Imagine that.

MEA MAXIMA CULPA!

I apologize to the Migration Buddy thingy, to eveyone here, to the entire planet cept for ISIS.

The Migration Buddy not only worked, it worked in under one second!!! Migration Buddy rocks!!!! Ask me wut I did wrong yesterday. Go ahead, ASK. K....wut I did wrong was, I choose Pale Moon as the source browser! U bet. Did that again, with same result, then I got, no you insane be-atch, U gotta choose FIREFOX! So I did, chose Cyberfox as copy to....and whole thing worked perfectly!

Incluuuuudddding....my Lavafox RED! OMG!!!!!!!

K.....I feel bettah. but had you guys not become brilliant, generous, kind, patient, tolerant sheep dogs in this, trust me I would never have tried again.

But now, I gotta find a way to get rid of the logosceen, so that the browser opens with all Lavafox red.

Perfect!! now import my custom CTR file like I posted earlier

then

install this addon: Classic Toolbar Buttons

Then right click on the top of the Cyberfox bar and chose CUSTOMIZE

now move the Home button to the left like it was in FF 24

Then move the refresh button from the customize bottom left panel up and place it to the left of the URL Bar :D

With my custom CTR profile that I posted, it will already remove that confusing and annoying refresh button from the address bar :)

I can almost not believe it, everything is there, all my add-ons, bookmarks, saved PWs....everything. In under one second!!!! Migrate Buddy is AWESOME.

Also....counter INTUITIVE: I C Pale Moon listed as source browser, that is wut I chose. No! Wrong! Too LOGICAL. He should remove that from the list!

Now I will get your customize thingy....to see if it yields even more good options. Thank you!

Just the thought of uninstalling my PM makes me very sad, tho.

I hear you, was my only browser that I use for many months, until they decided to shoot themselves in the foot by acting macho and wanting to go as an independent browser which sadly, noone supports

Did you ever try watching videos on YouTube with Pale Moon, it's so glitchy / freezes/ buffers/plays a little, then freezes, this is super smooth in Cyberfox just as it is in Firefox.

Additionally, I was sick and tired of random sites telling me I am using an unknown browser or would simply not load which now Pale Moon fixed by cheating the useragent/overide but still, I don't like how it's done. I prefer a browser that works as the web developer intended it to :)

Sigh. Above is all true.

Humm. I actually never experienced that!

Nor, did I ever experience THAT! BUT yr sharing how PM Face got around it, is very impressive. I had no clue.

Pale Moon FACE....needs an INTERVENTION.

Not sure wut to do re below. But, now that I am way more my real self than the resentment filled, snarling being I was yesterday....also part of today, I will figure it out.

Sigh. Having for me, major impediment in the new browser: I can not get rid of the now white field when opening it.....so that the Lavafox Red theme appears normally in the whole GUI.

Yes, I did about:config and switched to about:blank in browser startup homepage, the other was OK. Ironically, this was my issue with PM 25 until I found a get around. Tho that displayed the logoscreen and not the blinding white field I now have.

It still does until I click out of it.
________________________________________________-

Late Edit: sorry, no hitting, new browser not working as perfectly as I need. I was wrong, not everything got migrated perfectly. But most of all, no matter what I do re customize, change string values, the thing opens with the blinding white field, and not my LavaFox red in the main body of the GUI.

The default Cyberfox homepage page.....I despise.

Have you checked out the customize CyberFox options?

Hide borders and background colors might do it??

I actually use Firefox about 99% of the time. :)

Thanks for this time U R wasting, OMG.:| Sure, I opened Customize Cyberfox many times, tried things. Tho my customize looks nothing like yours. Gotta find out why, I got mine as per Berryracer.

But don't I want to show background colors and not hide them?

Let me go back and look again.
_________________________________________
Edit: No, mine is the same, just black. I tried hide background colors, nuthin. Seriously hate to say it, but, right now, Pale Moon, for me, is the lesser of two evils.

Either I am too stupid to configure Cyberfox perfectly, or too picky re LavaFox Red normally filling the GUI to live with Cyberfox.

I would go check re how much data I have written to this poor SSD today re this new attempt to run the new browser, but it would make me sicker.():)

Guys, my Cyberfox has gremlins. Some radicalized into ISIS presence is preventing me from configuring it normally and perfectly. I just tried to log into ebay in it and got error message saying invalid PW. I manually entered my PW and got the same thing.

Not to mention, I am not even getting "bookmark this page".....when trying to add the bookmarks now still missing to the Cyberfox toolbar.

I am now back in Pale Moon 25....where there are no ISIS terrorists.

Given how much time fine humans have wasted trying to help me with this---forget the work time I have---tho, trying is always good, I'm afraid I once again, will have to uninstall this puppy.:'(

But it truly was thrilling to get if you don't get sucked into the source browser as Pale Moon, the Migration Buddy kinda works. Not perfectly, but that was fun....that it worked even somewhat.
