I’m amazed about how accurate our forefathers were when then voiced their concern about a strongman leader being elected and how a standing army would lead to presidents using it to their own advantage. The whole "warrior ethos" and "cult of the operator" mentality being perpetuated throughout the military and planners is a general anethema to the country and is doing long-term damage too. Foresaking the idea of the citizen soldier is bad for us all.

They have the money to dangle in front of people. And there are plenty of Trump voters who want to play gestapo.
