What bullshit? Of course eventually the topics are going to merge, and one discussion will bleed into the other, especially because these changes are made only a few days apart.

That the attitude and responses in that discussion were because of the pure legitimacy of the topic when the responses on that exact same topic here had quite different responses in fact.

Simply look at the first 10-20 or so responses on this thread and the other thread (before people were discussing and simply expressing their opinions about the matter). You could see clearly that this thread is mostly "Sure, that could only help me", while that thread is mostly "This is a terrible idea".

Look, I was simply answering your question why the responses in this thread is different from that one, and I think I came up with a perfectly logical answer for that. Because it's ultimately two different topics of changes in Steam, and people mostly agreed with this change, but disagreed with that one. It's simple.

If you'd rather the answer is something else, maybe because the other thread is posted by a quality poster (and this one isn't), or because that one is in the right forum (and this one isn't), it's up to you. I can't force you to see something that you don't see.

You were also accusing people of being Valve fanboys who think they couldn't do wrong. That other thread clearly shows that you're wrong.

"Sure, that could only help me"

Because most in this discussion only care about themselves and since they already spend money they like regardless of how it affects those who have not or can not spend any money on the Valve platform.

Also most of the discussion is only a few posters with overwhelming bickering. If you look at the one post responses there is more of a variety in what was said.

Most of who are posting over there are not posting that much in this particular discussion.

So what does number of responses to a post mean? There are tens of THOUSANDS of posts in this forum that have less responses than this thread.

If you notice though, this thread, nearly EVERY RESPONSE is telling you that your OP is completely off-kilter.

Ummm yeah. I posted a thread about the TV show "Last Man on Earth"
And there's been a discussion on it... some people like it. Some people don't. Some are indifferent.

WTF is your point?

Seems I have to give you some support to use your biological computer.

The exact same stuff you guys were insulting at me for complaining about was what you were complaining about for another company providing services for free when they are a private corporation.

Meanwhile we'll get more schlock like Two and a Half Men, or Big Bang Theory that will stay on the air for a decade.

So wait now you are not going to pay for anything and you are complaining about how they run their business? And furthermore even if you were to pay for anything you are complaining about them milking their franchises?

So it couldn't possibly be because the two issues are completely different in nature, and one simply received mostly positive reactions while the other simply received mostly negative reactions?

Remember that you were the one who asked the question, whining why the responses are different. And when I told you why, repeatedly, you refused to accept the answer. Well, you are welcome to believe what you want to believe.

I <3 Steam.

It's just such a good platform/service. The only real drawback I can see is that Valve has been more focused on developing Steam then making HL3.

From the exact same posters time and again when other one post responses have more variety some agreeing with you, some hesitantly supporting these brand new policies, some who think Valve needs to deal with spammers but think they did this in the wrong way, and some other responses.

I am in the third camp although I think some tweaking could make these policies more fair and reasonable.
