Smart money says the OP is 25-30 years old, unemployed and lives at home. No other person besides spammers would be upset about this.

What exactly about that video was link spam?

The lack of commentary on your part. See, when you throw up a link it's common to make a comment on how this video or link adds to your point. All you do is throw up a link. The other readers of the thread have absolutely no idea, or whom or what you are responding to. Then when we comment on the link, you respond back with your typical" that's not the point I was making with that link!!M!!!!!"
It's like you have no idea how to properly communicate about anything.

So basically what you mean is that you give no fucks about the video or about any of the content or ideas of the discussion but only on the sociological interactions and characteristics of the discussion.

Sure.

No, that's not the point at all. We are supposedly in a discussion here. I say supposedly, because you are not engaging in a discussion. You are doing the equivalent of link spamming. You are just posting links up with no commentary. Basically a see that, see this, see, look. That's not a discussion. Until you comment about your thoughts and comments on the video, I'm not going to watch it. See I'm trying to teach you how to have a discussion, because seriously you are terrible at it.

No... I do not think that is what he is saying. Your comprehension level is remarkably low.

He's saying that when you throw up a link, it should include some sort of comment by you explaining WHY you think that link is relevant to the discussion at hand -- how it's contents lends credence to your argument. Without that addition, the people following the link can then better ascertain why you provided it. Really, the advantage is all yours to provide some insight to exactly WTF you are trying to say.

So do you need a description of it or do you need to know my own thoughts on it?

The description is in the title and "description" of the link if you were to so much as actually click anything.

He did not mention a word about "description"...

He suggested/requested a "comment about your thoughts and comments on the video"

You see the difference right?

And I fail to see how a video can not stand on their own merit with or without my thoughts.

So if he wants my opinion he can ask and that is valid but that does not make the video any less valid by default nor is it spamming since I gave the link since it is relevant to this discussion.

It seems to me you care more about how I come into play then how the video might come into play.

And here is the video starting past the semi-relevant introduction.

To save everyone's time, this link is not related to the topic of this thread. The Youtube video is solely discussing about mods being sold on Steam, which is a topic of discussion in this thread, in the PC Gaming forum.

Either OP accidentally posted this in the wrong thread (because he did end up posting the same link over there), or it was intentionally meant as a red herring.

But don't worry OP, we're not going to suddenly forget what this thread is about and why you made the thread. This thread is about Steam restricting some social features from people who never paid $5, which is a great feature! ;)

For those of you who need a reminder, this is what this thread is about . The title of the article is "Steam cracks down on spammers, restricting new accounts until users pay up".

And to recap the article, the features that are restricted to these $0 users are:

Sending friend invites
Opening group chat
Voting on Greenlight, Steam Reviews and Workshop items
Participating in the Steam Market
Posting frequently in the Steam Discussions
Gaining Steam Profile Levels (Locked to level 0) and Trading Cards
Submitting content on the Steam Workshop
Posting in an item's Steam Workshop Discussions
Accessing the Steam Web API
Using browser and mobile chat

That is what it was originally about but more or less this discussion has now gone all over the fucking place everywhere on anything concerning Valve Corporation.

Or most successful troll of the decade. I'm actually starting to learn towards the latter and feel like a fool for taking the bait.

I think you could be right. Then again, it's good entertainment while holding my daughter during her nap time. I used to game, but she kept waking up every time my heart got racing during intense points.

FWIW, I keep hoping Gabe will take advantage of me someday. I keep texting him pics, but so far no response yet.

Nah. You just wanted it to go that way, but nobody is biting. You have a cause that you wanted other people to support, but you literally posted a couple of days early bringing up an issue that other people turned out actually like.

If you had waited a few more days to bitch on Valve and brought up the mod issue, you would have a great chance to get some supporters. Unfortunately that's not the case. Just give it up.

Edit: <insert swing-and-miss gif here> ooh I found one!

And how in the hell has this never been moved to the applicable forum? This certainly seems more "PC Gaming" than "Off Topic" doesn't it?

Did you clue in the rest of us that the discussion had changed? What you are doing is the equivalent of stating something like: Since my op failed, this thread is now about potatoes! I'm sure people at valve like potatoes, it's relevant somehow, I'm sure. Or, you could just let this one die and start a new thread.

Let me help you out:

He's a 27 year old boy who lives with his mommy. He doesn't work, doesn't go to school full time, he just reads stuff on the internet. Because he has zero social interaction in real life, he doesn't know how to put together thoughts or comments like a normal person does. He has devolved into a series of grunts and moans and the occasional wiki link.

He thinks he is a genius. He actually thinks that. Never mind that he has no reasoning skills and logic is something he read about on wiki. If you put him in front of one of those toys with different shaped blocks and different shaped holes, it would take him 5 hours of youtube videos to figure out how to work it.

He is a worthless moron.

You know I thought that maybe all the comments about different stuff might clue some in on it.

I already consider this discussion as past any use.

I never said Valve was pure evil only that I feel they are not forthright about their conduct and that they took advantage of spammers to gain some cold hard cash. I mean another Valve move less than a week later also is going to give Valve some money does that just seem coincidental?

I hope Valve does get Linux on the desktop adopted to a significant share but I am going to make sure I use more platforms than Steam for my software.

And I also think for certain mods maybe for something like Falskaar that the modders have a right to ask for money but I am fully against any attempts by developers, publishers, or retailers to shift the mod community from friendly cooperation to capitalistic gain.

You are a dry drunk who follows me around everywhere. You are court ordered into angry pills and AA meetings. You dropped your kid off for your parents to take care of and yet have the gall to blame everything on his mom because maybe because you won over her at getting less problems first by a few years or some shit. Furthermore even at that other site you are considered as over the line and were threatened with banning. And you do nothing all day but constantly insulting my dead cat along with any other scapegoats you can find.
