US politics needs more Christie, less Romney

Would he end up pulling a McCain, going from very reasonable/straightforward to batshit, in order to win the GOP though?
 
Above is why he sat this cycle out, too many nuts in Republican Politics he simply didn't want to enter the ugly, back stabbing fight. I would bet there will be changes made to the Republican nomination process after this year's mess, then we will see Christie run.

Being a Dem I wan't too thrilled w/Gore. I liked McCain of 2000 when he stood up to that gasbag Jerry Fallwell. McCain got sanbagged by Karl Rove in SC sucking up to the racists with the McCain black baby bullshit.

Well in 2008 he was back to kissing the ass of the religious right. Lost my respect I had gained for him.

In 2016 I'd like to see a Gore/Dean ticket. Those guys would be entertaining... Christie would make a very good VP in my opinion, a Republican ticket with him and Scott Brown, Susan Collins, or Olympia Snowe as the lead would be a winner.

I think you may be right. While LBJ (for one example) did many great things while in office, he was also a stubborn bully and that contributed to him also doing many terrible things while in office.

Being the cynic I am, I think Christie is throwing Romney under the bus for a 2016 bid. I've thought this since his convention speech. There's nothing better for Christie right now than to say Obama is a savior in this crisis and they have a great working relationship (see: Booker, Cory).

It's just so rare these days for any Republican to give credit to any Democrat that when it happens he looks like a fucking hero. Wow, he thanked Obama for doing everything he can to help the people of his state instead of publicly backstabbing Obama while privately begging for assistance. It's such a great gesture that I will stop voting for nobody and start voting Republican again. 🙄
