Updated - Buying a 2012 Nissan GT-R - ETA - This Week

Being a huge fan of the GT-R, Castiel's lack of response regarding the status of his "purchase" is a huge disappointment.

I also feel, as usual, completely inadequate as a man, a car aficionado, and frankly, as a human being in general when compared to the awesomeness of the garage folk here at AT. ;-)

Maybe Castiel didn't get financing or had an ill-timed margin call...obviously, he would never lie or misrepresent himself on an internet forum. Especially here, it's too impossible to even consider. :-D

if i were buying a sweet new car i'd probably do the same thing just for the "haha, i told you so" effect...

The point was you are delusional. There are tons of flames here when someone is thinking of buying an older car or less than popular one. God forbid the guy talking about buying a high end car...most like yourself have all doubts.

The sad part is this type of mentality just pegs you as one of the poor here...sure you may think you are really middle class or something, but I am thinking that is a stretch.

Also not everyone that posts here really cares to keep everything up to date.
Flaming, or arguments, or suggestions are not even remotely the same as what's going on here. But, I think because you're meddling with bullshits so much yourself, you're having a hard time distinguishing the differences. I even said we ARGUE and talk about cars.

Just in case you don't understand the differences, allow me. When someone said "What do you guys think of buying a car for commuting" and people suggesting different options, that's not nearly the same as when someone come in here and spout off "GUISE, I'm gonna bai a sooperdooper car because I'm COOL and you all should bow down to me" or "GUISE, LOOK AT MY SIG!!!!!!!!!111!!!".

If someone here purchase a Veyron and share with us his fortune, we'd all be happy for him. If someone say "Guy, I'm gonna buy a Veyron" and then nothing ever materializes, that's call trolling.

Here's another reason why I'm not delusional - I'm very much aware of my own personal financial situation. According to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_income_in_the_United_States, statistically I'm in the top bracket, but reality tells me otherwise. I know beyond the figure lies a whole other echelon of income bracket, so I'm never once thought that I'm "better than other people". You're right that I peg myself with the poor, because I'm not banging goddesses at the same time and doing 7 gram rocks, I'm not winning.

Having live through the part of life that some people are now coming into, I know what's financially possible, or feasible when it comes to purchasing power. Unless you're an idiot and believe otherwise, a lot of the things people said are not even remotely close to reality. Which gets me wonder about your values and personal conviction - why are you so quick on defending bullshitters and liars?

I guess I could have summarized this wall-o-text into "Alkemyst, you suck!" but meh, I got some times.

Edit: and the whole reason for this was not for the OP's post, but Sinanju's sig. I saw that bullshit from a mile away.

Maybe Castiel has problems with the alphabet and got a GT-S instead. :awe:

Realizing his goof (after attempting a neck-snapping 2.9s 0-60 and instead getting passed by a dude on a mountain bike) he is now too embarrassed to report back.

I genuinely want this to be the case. It's always fun to enjoy and share someone's new car purchase, especially when it's a vehicle with such a reputation.

I agree.

It's one thing to brag, another to be genuinely excited and want to share, and completely another when you're just trolling and full of it.

Another scenario: perhaps his dad wanted to buy a GT-R? And once his dad received it, the plans was to take lots of pics and post them here? And now maybe his dad backed off and he doesn't know what to do.

Just a thought.

I am glad that something was cleared up.

Societal Position = $
Better = $/year
Betterment = Better/Time = $/year^2

It is just like physical position, speed, and acceleration!

But I have a question, do you factor in combined income in the better-than-you determination?

I think you should.

Well there's this:

http://www.insideline.com/nissan/gt-r/2012/2012-nissan-gt-r-shipments-to-us-delayed-by-quake.html

# Shipments of the 2012 Nissan GT-R to the U.S. have been delayed by the massive earthquake in Japan, but a shipment of more than 600 Nissan Leafs destined for the U.S. left port just before disaster struck.

Maybe the OP's car is caught up in this.
His car was already on a truck heading for the dealer, it was at the dealer and was awaiting for him to drive it, but that damn pesky snowstorm that was the reason that kept him from enjoying the car... Or so I've read...

You know, I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking he may just be too busy at work to check in and post, but that's not the case. He's been posting pretty much everywhere EXCEPT for in this thread.

WTH?

It was always pretty clear that Sinanju was full of shit from the start. It just never added up. You don't go into nearly every post and thread bragging about your super-duper cars, and how much better and richer you are than everyone else, and then not have a single picture or photograph of your pride and joy(s). Someone that materialistic and egomaniacal is going to have DOZENS of pictures. Or, ya know, at least ONE.

As far as the OP goes, I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He clearly is not as insecure, and its plausible he's not concerned with validating his image on an internet tech forum, and will post when he feels like it. Of course, why you'd go to the bother of creating a huge thread, posting in it daily for weeks, and continuing to create 13+ posts a day, everyday, while suddenly ignoring your own thread is weird, too.
