This is an epic thread for AT garage:

- Classic e-peen talk (including salaries)
- smack down on e-peen talk
- Syringered
- quality pics
- alkymest sticking his peen where it doesn't belong

It's like ATOT wrapped in one thread.

I agree, this is the best thread we've had in 2011.

Only thing we're missing is a glowing endorsement of the Maxima from Jules. 🙂

I agree

and gotta hand it to SSSnail for the QOTT (Quote of the Thread):

"You're right that I peg myself with the poor, because I'm not banging goddesses at the same time and doing 7 gram rocks, I'm not winning." - SSSnail

Jules has a Maxima but endorses the Lotus. I had a Maxima and it was a fine car. One day I may have a GT-R but I have wait for my balls to drop. When that happens I hope to start a 1000-reply thread as well. What more could the OP have asked for? 😀

Hell I just got back from the dealership with my GT-R. The plan is to gut it and use as a computer cases to handle my octo-Crossfire video card setup. This will give me the fastest car in ATG that can play Crysis 2 at Max settings while I do blow and bang my super model sister wives.

How about creating a topic instead of just being part of the chucklehut?

As far as the OP goes, I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

...soo...yeah...starting to feel pretty stupid about that.

EDIT: Oh, and apologies to anyone who saw a new post in this fail of a thread and clicked it thinking there were actually some *gasp* pictures. My fault. 😱

Your sisters are supermodels and you married both of them? 😛

Maintenance is very expensive on these, and you need to be sure the dealership near you can even service it. This is a car I'd rather buy new as who knows what the previous owner did. Too many launches and they won't cover the transmission, which costs like 20+k not including install charges. Newer ones seem to have a better launch control, dunno if Nissan is covering older ones or not.

A good reason to buy one new is that you know that dealership can service it if they can sell it. Also, aren't those around 70k brand new anyway?

I'm confused about the potential transmission costs. My clutch on my new 2001 m5 literally turned blue after 9500 miles of extremely aggressive driving (I was using the clutch to slow down the car, not realizing that the brakes are monsters on that car) and bmw still gave me a new clutch. That was only $1200, and you are MUCH more likely to fry a clutch from extremely aggressive driving than a tranny. Could it happen? sure. Would I buy a used high end sports car like this? hell no. But potential transmission failures in the future would be easy to cover with an extended warranty, anyway.

Yikes and double yikes on that kent. Tires start at 1350 for a set.

Going to try and stop by the nissan dealer this afternoon to see if possibly he's getting a pearl white or can find me one. Was doing some reading and guys have been getting leftover 09's and 10 models for invoice around 80K. I'd much rather pay 10K more for brand new then get stuck with a vehicle thats been beat on.

A 3 year / 36000 mile prepaid maintenance package for this car runs for 6500 dollars which is actually less then i expected.

that's a more reasonable tire price. My m5 had 245/40/zr18 in front and 275/35/zr18 in rear and I typically paid about $1300 for good replacements. One time I cheaped out and bought goodyears for around $1000. I could only endure that for a few thousand miles and finally went back to michelins. Good news re maintenance, however, is that it actually wasn't too bad. Sure the bmw store (momentum bmw in houston) was a bit expensive, but they knew I was in the car business so they didn't ever try to really shaft me. Also, they ended up hitting my warranty company for about $4500 worth of different things over the 3 1/2 years or so that it was in effect after the factory warranty expired.

The z06 is VERY close to the GTR in performance. Upgrades on the LS motors are cheap as well. Maintenance on a Corvette is super cheap as well.

The GTR might be a bit more prestigious, but with a Corvette you can beat on it every single day and it won't complain.

Drive a z06 then a gtr back to back and see which one you like better as a daily driver. I've never driven a gtr, but I can verify that z06 is an EXTREMELY rough ride for a daily driver. I nearly bought one from our gm store before I left it a few years ago, but after driving it I just couldn't see myself driving it every day.

Clearly he is, considering the lots of us are in our thirties, held well-paid positions longer, and perhaps with the financial knowhow to deduce by what he mentioned, there's no freaking way in hell he could pull it off unless he's in massive debts, or is a trust fund baby. According to his story, we can comfortably scratch out trust fund, so that just leaves us with massive debts or lying. But I digress...

You know what, he is better. I, too, welcome our Sinanju overlord!

maybe/maybe not, but I bought my m5 brand new when I was 27 and making a salary that is probably similar to what he claims to make. I was young, single, and had a $20k clear title trade. Ended up with a ~ $1250 car payment or so, easily affordable on a lot less than 100k per year for a young single dude.

having said all that, he does look like a poser if he won't even post pictures of the car. I was very excited to post my car pics all over the internet b/c I was so proud of it. There's absolutely no reason to NOT post a pic of your car in this situation unless you're just making s**t up.

Ok, shameless plug. If any of you guys really CAN afford a 100k car, I have about 85 new vipers for sale. A few 09's, mostly 2010's. PM me if you're interested in one. No joke.
