anyone else having trouble with this?

Did you enter the item# and use the order by item# feature? If so then use my area code 32955 as I just checked again and it show in stock and ready to ship with in 3days. OD.com pulled their rebate today so I'll e-mail you a copy of it ;)

Enable private messages in your profile and I'll send you the Office depot rebate form :) the print out form is fine and you will use the invoice that ships with the drive as proof of purchase.

99 minute overburns? Holy Jesus am I behind the times! The best I can massage from my 24X Plextor is about 81:12. Will these 99 minute disks play in all players? I just might jump on this for this reason alone (although I really wanted one of those new jobbies that can put pictures and text and stuff on the disk). I'm going to go see if it's still as "easy" to upgrade Nero as it used to be -- I'll be right back.

B.T.W. What's the advantage of the Lite-On firmware? Is it just the 48X burn or does it add other capability?

So whats the deal with the NERO??? Does NERO work with the drive. IF so, is there anything that you have to do special to NERO for it to work?

Woohoo! I was actually "entitled" to upgrade from my old 5.5.8.0 to the new 5.5.9.9. Looks the same but also includes a cutesy "Nero Express" thing that's kinda like CD Creator. The deal's on!

Ahh, I get it: "Nero" "burning rom". Never noticed that before. Just figured it was some weird German translation -- maybe I should think more.

*Whoops!* Out of stock and my coupon has already been used. They're gonna be mad that I set up a fake account and tricked their system with DAPUNISHER's zip code. Oh well. Now, where's that pesky OD rebate?

roncarter The CDR software needs to be updated to support newer drives. Also, newer drives read special speed data from the disk and will limit the maximum speed as needed. Looks like those things were overlooked by the first few folks. See if you're eligible for the
latest Nero and go for it!

HERE ARE ALL THE REBATES Including a $30 job that runs from 10/6-10/12. Note, the elusive $20 OD rebate requires a 9/28 purchase date. Get 'em while they're hot!

roncarter: 40X media is not needed. You just need media that Sony has not blacklisted as "lousy". They test all the major brands for reliability and embed the test results and identifying features of the media within the firmware of the drive. If the drive detects cheap media it will automatically limit itself so as to produce a reliable burn. Pretty cool huh?

On the rebate page there is only 2 rebate form there, one is the OD $30 and one is the Sony $20. I bought my drive on Sept 27th so I can't use the OD $30 rebate. I recall that there is another rebate from before, does anyone have that?

I got in on this a couple weeks ago...

$89.99 - $20 off of $75 coupon (free shipping) - $20 Sony MIR - $20 OD MIR = about $34.93 when it's all said and done!

Nice drive for a nice price!

I searched for the CRX195A1 even with your zip DAPUNISHER (32955) and I still can't find the 40X version of the Sony CDRW. Is it OOS? Will it be back on 10/6?

Damn that sucks, guess I should have waited and I would save another $10. Oh well no biggie. So now OD is going to have $30 rebate on it, so if there still is a coupon that works, the final price will be $24 instead of $34 nice...
