I'm think they'll give him manslaughter. Sounds like that's the compromise verdict that will be reached so these people can go home.

Well back to work for me...hope they wait until I'm done for the night. Someone needs to set up a live feed to spidey's house in case GZ's found guilty, I want to see his head explode live....

The whole thing is a human enterprise and, accordingly, unpredictable. Going into deliberations I thought a full acquittal was very likely - now I am far less confident of that. If my setting odds is not a "prediction," call it whatever you're comfortable with.

Real estate .. divorces etc then?

No, I am more or less a full-time trial lawyer. I do a lot of various business litigation but also a lot of public-sector work, including government employment arbitrations and representing the transit authority and its police department in personal injury and civil rights cases. We also do various plaintiff's work - one of my partners is the best condemnation attorney in the state. In a small firm like mine you end up doing all kinds of things, which keeps it interesting.

This jury is stupid but I guess that goes without saying for someone who gives up weeks of their life for this - instructions are clear as a bell. This is why if i was ever accused of a crime i'm letting judge decide my fate even this so-called 'bias' one least they understand thier own instructions.

It depends on the case, but I do see this as one in which a bench trial might have been a safer choice. I know Nelson is a former prosecutor but it seems to me the overwhelming majority of judges would acquit on this evidence. I'm fairly certain I would (the only reason I'm not sure is that I didn't watch all of the trial).

i'm going to hazard a wild guess that the reason for the manslaughter question was to convince 1 or 2 to acquit, it may have taken 14-15 hours just to get from murder 2.

Its pretty obvious at this point they don't agree though.

I'd be surprised that they reach an agreement on manslaughter. Seems they are trying to convince a holdout or two to acquit.

So acquit or hung. I think those are the only two viable options.

There could be a couple unwilling to change their mind on either side of the ball no matter how long it takes. In that case it would obviously be a win for Zimmerman if it goes to a hung jury. It's not like this case is rocket science or brain surgery, the evidence (or lack there of) is pretty clear. But these women probably do have some fear of their personal lives if they acquit GZ, parts of the black community have made that obvious. The last thing they want is for spike lee to tweet out the address of each juror if GZ walks

I tend to agree but admit I have no idea WTF i'm talking about, its hard enough for me to get into the mind of my wife let alone 6 other women.

LOL. No kidding.

I guess I see the case as so one sided that its just hard for me to imagine that 6 people would agree to go the other way. Women or not. One or two of them wanting to convict makes more sense to me than all 6.

At this time...are west and o'mara each getting their full rate ($300/$400/hr) just for waiting for the verdict?
