How do you Americans feel about Scotland being able to have a vote to leave the UK?
I know things get "fraught" if someone mentions secession in America.
Around the world, it is hard to find a country that, as much as the United Kingdom, supports separatism even when it is not convenient. Once the largest empire in the world, swallowing up massive civilizations in India, Africa, and elsewhere, the U.K. is, with astounding maturity, committed to holding on to no territory against the majority will of its citizens, whether it is Hong Kong, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Northern Ireland, or Scotland. The worldand the neighborhood of Russia in particularwould be a better place if everyone settled their borders as the English and Scottish are finally able to do, with words, arguments, and an orderly vote.
Every poll in NI has shown that the people of NI want NI to remain part of the UK.Yah que no sense of honor with the British and Northern Ireland.

Not sure if English colonists count as actual Northern Irish.

Scotlands Yes campaign for independence has taken the lead with just days to the referendum, the Sunday Times reveals tonight.
A poll by YouGov puts the pro-independence group ahead for the first time, with 51% in favour of independence and 49% against.
wut? I voted for Jeff Davis. I think round 2 would go a lot diffeent.I think Scotland are gone. People don't want to be on the wrong side of history.
Time for the rest of the UK to become a federal state. I don't think unitary style governments work in countries with relatively large populations.
England doesn't want Scotland anymore.
