Hey c'mon, who cares about some bet. I mean, what's the big problem if Woosta posts about MMA? Some of it may be uh, you know, but why restrict him it adds a little liveliness.

His younger brother who plays football at Syracuse is the same - 6'6" 250lbs. and only 20 years old. Reminds me of Julius Peppers.

Holy crap, and his older brother plays for the Ravens or something? Or is this the same guy?

i sense a Jones dynasty, much like gsp/silva and even Matt Hughes.

I see many successful title defenses. looks like The LHW division has finally stabilized and no more rotating champions.

hmm i wouldn't go that far. sure he seems to have it all. but i have my doubts if he can go 4-5 rounds. i really want to see someone take him that far. trouble is he is such a beast in the first 2 rounds finding someone able to withstand it might be a problem.

how long has Dana white beeen promising to force Silva to move up to LHW? after all, Silva has won every fight in middleweight for the last 4+ years.

silva vs jones would be a good fight

Prior to this fight, I could see your point... But he was so smart tonight, and he paced himself so well. As good as he looked in the third, I see no reason he couldn't have dominated two more.

I didn't see any of the rashad and jones stuff in the cage after the fight - what happened? Anything said?

It was pretty civil. Rogan stated Rashad was next in line for a shot at the title and asked Jones what his thoughts were. Jones said he's got to do what he's got to do to keep the belt. Rashad said you learn never say never and he looks forward to the fight.

Just read in a Keith Jardine article of all things that Rashad is working out in NYC with Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I wonder if he's going to stick around there for a while to train for this fight. I just can't see both working out in the same gym getting ready for this fight.

Edit: Apparently in post fight interviews Rashad stated he has quit the Jackson gym.

Thanks for the recap. Yeah - watch the Greg Jackson interview too... he said he won't corner either of the fighters...

I think that's something Jackson will work with him on - stamina. He looked a bit tired at some points in round 2, and if you heard - Jackson even said "You think you're tired? Look at the beating he's taking, he's way more tired" or something to that extent.

That being said - if someone can take round after round after round of the ass whooping, hard knees/punches/elbows/knees and wait for him to wear out, then that guy deserves to be champ, assuming he can capitalize on him being tired, but I very highly doubt that.

I see Jones KO'ing Rashad, 2nd round. After that, well, who cares. :)

What will be interesting is to see if Rashad can get him down. We've NEVER seen him on his back, and that could be the difference. Standing up, I think Rashad get's KOed... that dude is too long..

At least it was a close and competitve fight. Just kidding. Jones is a force...! I think his arms were longer than Shogun's legs.

Wow jones took him down with ease.
Bones takes down guys that do not get taken down. Shogun has poor TD defense, it was a foregone conclusion he would be on his back. Bones postured up and dropped damaged from guard, no surprise there either.

I would like to see Shogun v. Forrest 2 now. I really think Forrest is a bad match up for him too. Why? Because Forrest will out work him, and make it a a grueling fight. It also appears, that attacking his knees is a good way to put him in a funk/off his game.

The people saying Rampage is a good match up to beat Jones, are insane. QJ would end up on his back, taking a terrible beating. I think they are insane for suggesting the Spider too. If Sonnen can hold him down and pound on him, Bones will put him through the mat. As great as his stand up is, Bones has the reach and take downs to compensate for it.

My man Machida? He keeps his hands too low, and depends too much on tai and ashi sabaki. Bones' reach and 360 fighting style will short circuit that.

Randy might be able to grind out a tough decision by wrestling him. Us old folk have to stick together. Old man strength FTW. :awe:

a top fighter. Bonner is one of my favorite but he is not what i would call one of UFC's top lvl fighters.
Jones has improved immensely since that fight too.

Meh it will be boring without him around. We should all just say he can't post about MMA until after the next UFC.

After this beating there is only one fight I want to see now, Jones Silva, PERIOD.
