I think Woosta is an idiot, but I think he should still post about MMA.

He just shouldn't make any picks, because he's really bad at that.

A year without him posting about MMA is a blessing with ZERO downside.

I'm just saying he went the distance with Jones already.

while he did going the distance with Bonner and going with a top lvl fighter is different. If Bonner wasn't so well liked he would have been cut from the UFC (not to mention what he did for the UFC in his fight with Forest)

hmm Silvia and JJ? that would be a interesting fight. I love Randy (my favorite fighter! but then im partial to wrestlers) but i think he would be in over his head. he is getting old and slow.

Yeah. Mostly luck but I try to be objective. Love jones, feel bad for shogun because he's very talented. Jones is a genetic freak and his physique alone will give people problems.

Jones is a "genetic freak"? He's definitely tall with long limbs, but he's scrawny as shit. I also want to point out he got the nickname "bones" from being teased for being skinny. "skin and bones!". Great MMA fighter with great speed and unorthodox techniques, but as far as being a genetic freak... Um.. No.

Meh it will be boring without him around. We should all just say he can't post about MMA until after the next UFC.

There's an awesome Fight Night next Saturday, that's too short of a period. If a reduction of his self-imposed exile is in order, it should be until AFTER the next Fedor fight so he can't scream to the high heavens of how awesome Fedor is.

And if Fedor never fights again... well then. :D

Genetic freak doesn't mean that he's got 3 heads or 6 arms. He's got a combination of size, strength, speed, and ability that arguably have not been seen at LHW, ever. Did Rua even touch him? Bones fought 6 weeks ago, just fought somone who everyone thought was a "beast" yesterday, and doesn't have a scratch on him. Bones could fight again tomorrow if he wanted to. That's where the term "genetic freak" comes from. Just so people don't get confused, I was pulling for Rua in that fight, but I was pretty sure Jones was going to win. Just stating facts.

Davis's stand-up is bad but he's a great rassler. I see him running into trouble with several other top LHW's and not even getting to Jones.

Jones' main weakness at this point is only his gas tank. Since he's breaking noses and orbital bones inside of 3 rounds though that doesn't seem to be a problem.
like you said, who's gonna make it into the 4th against Jones?

Honestly, I don't see stamina being a "weakness". He's 23 and in superb shape, lean and not carrying extra weight. At points in the fight, he looked just a bit tired or maybe he was just pacing himself; I think he still had plenty in reserve and he showed it. Compared to standing and circling, his wrestling no doubt expends energy but much less than the guy on his back carrying him.

Jones' avg fight is close to 2 rounds, so it's not like he's the KO artist who's never shown much cardio.

Too many Jones nut huggers in here. He beat a fresh off knee surgery Shogun. We all know how Shogun fights coming off a surgery. I was afraid of that. I think Jones is more a product of just a lack of legit fighters at 205. Rampage, Rashad, and Machida are already lower 30's in age and the young guys like Bader are just too green.

Does this mean Shogun also beat the lack of legit fighters at 205?

Basically. Sorry if I don't just jump on the bandwagon like the rest of you. He looks to be a decent fighter but he's not some superhuman that's gonna defend the belt for the next 10 years like everyone is claiming. Only thing he does well I've seen is wrestle. He's going to eventually meet the guy he can't just overpower then he's gonna have to stand and strike and get his toothpick legs hammered with leg kicks.

Jones has improved immensely since that fight too.

Yeah, that was two full years ago. I don't think that fight is very relevant now, considering how fast Jon Jones improves. Also, it may have gone to decision, but Bonnar got absolutely tooled.

Against Shogun, Jones was clinching with him and holding him just far enough away that his knees were landing and Shogun's knees were whiffing. Genetics are a motherfucker.

I love how one guy all of a sudden is the stand out fighter and the rest of the division are not legit. JJ is the best at 205 right now hands down. I have been watching him come up the division for years. I wanted Shogun to win, but I had a feeling he wouldn't. Just face FACTS, some people are just heads above the rest, JJ is one of them, other then a DQ against Hamil the guy is undefeated.

I love the way he used his length to land all those inside kicks.

It helped control the space between him them and prevent rua from setting up. A shorter guy generally wants to 'get into' the taller guy to neutralize the length disadvantage, but rua couldn't do it and paid when he tried.
