I love how one guy all of a sudden is the stand out fighter and the rest of the division are not legit. JJ is the best at 205 right now hands down. I have been watching him come up the division for years. I wanted Shogun to win, but I had a feeling he wouldn't. Just face FACTS, some people are just heads above the rest, JJ is one of them, other then a DQ against Hamil the guy is undefeated.

what did Jones do to get a DQ?

A good 20-minute interview with jones a few weeks ago. With his easy going good-natured demeanor, you'd never guess he's about to have a ufc title fight.

Yeah...he totally reminds me of my buddy.

This guy has the potential to take this sport yet another notch. Very charismatic.

Was hoping shogun would win but i ended up betting against him. Hard to get over the multiple knee Surgerys hes gotten, poor boxing and 1 year ring rust.

Looking at his brothers and his frame I'm betting Jones will only stay at LHW for a year or two.

It's up to him hitting the weights, but he's not called bones for nuthin...

I didn't hear about this...the day before the fight, he and his trainers chased down a robber in the streets of Paterson, NJ...

the best part about this for dana white? suddenly people are going "fedor who?" all of the attention is on this kid now.

just hope he doesn't get ktfo in his next fight, that wouldn't be so great.

I will pull a Woosta (not post for a year) if Rashad knocks him out. Jones is going to kill him.

My thoughts:

I get a little sad watching CroCop and Shogun lose :( - A new generation of fighters coming in now though

I still don't like Bones but I love watching him fight - guy is amazing!!

How many back of the head shots does CroCop need to take before he finally gets 1 point deduction? Holy crap, even the KO was dangerously close to the back of the head.

Jim Miller - beast, deserves a title shot

Who in LHW can give Jones a fight? (don't say Couture, he might actually die in there with Bones) - Rampage is pretty slow, maybe Machida?, Phil Davis in 2 years, Rashad might last a while b/c he is a great wrestler and would run a lot of the time. My dark horse....Thiago Silva. He's big enough and strong enough, good BJJ, good striker, aggressive, etc.

Marquardt - To paraphrase the great Denny Green - "He is who we thought he was!" - He'll beat pretty much anyone except the top 3-4 of the division. Very consistent about it though.

I saw someone quote a line somewhere that has Bones as a 5 to 1 favorite. I'm at work so I'm not going to look that up but it sounds like the bookmakers agree. :)

Jones is crazy sick. But shogun must not have trained for months he looked horrible. They all claim to be trained in Muay Thai, Jones is the only one I have ever seen fight like it.

The Spider has good Muay Thai too. But you are right, even Rua applauded Jones' Muay Thai after the fight, and Rua was supposed to have that advantage.

oh wow.. i didnt notice this b4...

Shogun tapped after the ref stopped the fight?!?!

I think Shogun was kind of out of it at that point and was looking down and covering up. It happened really fast and he was tapping as the ref came running in. Ya, it was technically "after" the ref stopped it so he doesn't get a "tapped via strikes" on his record. But he did not nonetheless.....that's how bad of a beating Jones put on him.
Some people will called Shogun a pussy for doing it, but really he knew he was done and what's the point in getting more punishment afflicted on yourself? GSP has tapped to strikes before too.
