Overhyped. Bader, Bonner, Hammill does not compare to this fight. This is the big leagues. He's a wrestler fighting a true MMA fighter in Shogun.

Shogun is going to find the holes in his game. I'm predicting Shogun by TKO in the first round.
First round? That is some quick hole findin' and exploitin'.

LookBehindYou,

Schaub is improving, but after seeing Roy beat him down, I don't think he can eat too many of CC's lefts and stay vertical. As long as CC fights for a change, instead of phoning it in, he will get a W. /my prediction

Ya, it all depends on if CC comes in motivated. I don't put much stock into his training videos and talks of "I'm back now and hungry". He's been saying that every fight since Gonzaga. First it was "can't breathe through my nose", the "knee was injured I couldn't move", then it was "I finally got my fire back". Those all might be perfectly legit things, but he talks a lot and then doesn't come in with the fire he needs.

That being said, I still believe :) and think he can take Schaub out.

Dont forget CroCop vs Schaub is on this card. Damnit what i wouldnt give for one more LHK! I went to 119 when he fought Mir, i'm glad he's not going out like that. His recent training videos make it look like he could be back to true form. I hope so, will always be a crocop fan. I'd love for him to knock schaub into oblivion.

No knock to Crop Cop, dude was a beast in his prime. But have you ever seen a training video for any fighter where they didn't look great? I think the whole point is to make sure those videos give a sense of "this dude means business"

Hell I saw a training video of Rampage supposedly running 5 miles or something, he looked like he was totally into it too. I know his ass hates running though lol. If MMA had honest training videos and the fighters/camps didn't get the pick and chose what footage to use, nobody would really care about watching them fight.

If Cro Cop loses I think Dana cuts him, which would probably be for the best if he really doesn't have his heart in the game any more.

Yeah, I know every fighter looks good in training videos, but he does look bigger and in better shape than he has recently. I've been let down by him lately, just want to see him go out on top. I think he retires (or should) if he loses. I'll always root for him and be a fan no matter what though.

not going to end in the first round. Im not sure who will win because it can go either way.

Jones is a hell of a wrestler (lol giving grappling and speed to shogun? fuck hes insane) and has ragdolled some of the best in MMA. that is going to cause problems for shogun.

IF it stays on its feet i give it to shogun. but if Jones takes him down? jones can win it.

I was watching CroCop fights on youtube the other day. In his prime he was a fucking marauder. Anywhere his left leg touched you, you went down. And now he barely throws the fucking thing.

Jones dominates all rounds, and ends 2 minutes left in the 3rd round via strikes (most likely elbows).

sadly he is not the fighter he was. he gave one interview last year (maybe 2 years ago) he said something like "i used to dream about fighting. i would think about it all day. Now? i no longer dream or think about it"

I think the love for it is gone. now its all about the paycheck.

Using JJ's wins to try and discredit him is the stupidest fucking thing I have seen people do when debating this fight. It's not like JJ went in there and had trouble with anyone really. He has smashed pretty much everyone put in front of him, just like you would expect from a top 5 LHW. Saying "oh but Bader was over hyped" is fucking retarded especially considering that fight was pretty much 50/50 on the line and with the fans.

Man, Jones is getting arrogant. The way he is spouting off and not even giving Shogun the respect of looking at him. I hope Shogun beats JJ down. I love to watch Jones fight but he went from confident to arrogant/cocky REALLY fast in the past 2 months.

Shogun should be the favorite. It's a crime he isn't the favorite on the betting lines. A crime.

You know that betting lines have nothing to do with who is better right? It is to encourage betting so that the casino makes money either way the fight goes.

JJ always does those weird stare downs. This isn't the first time he has refused to look at an opponent. I highly doubt it's out of disrespect and probably just to help him psyche himself up. It is weird though. Can't wait for this fight it's going to be awesome.

Most of you dont know the fight game. Big deal if he didnt shake his hand. Most fighters dont want to be around or talk to the guy the are fighting, its a mindset. He isn't getting cocky, he respects shoguns ability. What do you expect him to say? "Shogun is gonna beat the shit out of me"? Sorry, this guy has been training hard and Shogun is the enemy. If any of you were fighters you would know what type of mindset he's in. He's always humble after EVERY fight doesn't show any disrespect to his opponent.

So how come 95% of other fighters can at least shake the guy's hand and say "good fight" or something? I forgot, JJ is "special" and the next Anderson Silva, GSP, and Muhammad Ali all rolled into one, and doesn't have to follow the same social rules as the other guys.

I buy what you're saying, and if I was a fighter this is how I'd operate too, at least before the fight. I wouldn't really want to be chummy with the dude that I need to beat up.

Jones is setting himself up for flaming by acting this way. But if it's what he has to do to be mentally prepared to win, then he should do it.

At this point, I think Jones probably is buying in to his own hype a little bit. As a Jones fan, this worries me, but then again, there have been very few uber-successful athletes as humble as the initial iteration of Jones we saw.

I understand what you are saying. None of them HAVE to do it. But typically martial arts are based on a sort of mutual respect. Like I said, 95% of the other fighters shake hands and look at each other in the lame faceoff pose. Jones doesn't and it just makes him come across as trying to be "special" and "different". It's not a huge deal and I'm sure Shogun really doesn't care. I guess Jones has just been getting on my nerves and it's one more thing that does it for me :)

Anyone else going to try to parlay Shogun at +150 and CroCop at +250? :) - For old times' sake.
