counterstrike is different, that is all about hyper punishing accuracy and tactics.

I reinstalled today just to take a look-see, I loaded up 2Fort and next thing I know, it's three hours later and I'm still playing. I was playing with the same classes I'd used before, very few of the new weapons were available to me. In fact, I used mostly the Engineer and my Engy has zero unlocks at all, 100% default loadout was all I had. And I managed to place second overall, and really the game does play the same regardless of all the upgrades.

So I dunno, I guess I'll rescind my previous comments about the game having gone to hell. The hats ARE distracting, and yet they're also interesting...

I played for a few hours on the weekend; felt exactly the same to me, no discernable difference as far as I could tell. Just played as I normally do and I had fun. Badwater FTW!

I don't think any of the default loadouts are uncompetitive which I find great. New things come out its fun to find them and mess with them but the game doesnt fundamentally change. Also Badwater is the best map nuff said.

Three engineers, all new kids, building their turrets side-by-side on the first floor of TF2. Poor coverage of the sewer stairs, zero coverage for the courtyard or hayroom, easy to blow up with explosives between them. When spies came in, they'd just stand there and watch the sappers ruin their shit, and not even chase after the spy.

yup, it really doesn't matter if you don't know much about the new weapons, in the end it is a fps shooter. Whether that rocket firing at you is a bit faster or slower, no big difference.

So I decided to give tf2 a whirl again. I rather enjoyed playing it, so I'm surprised that steam says I only have 33 hours in the game and last played a year ago (July 17th).

Unfortunately for me, I'm getting some bullshit about the game being unavailable right now. Apparently there's a troubleshooting list Valve has for me to through, but fuck that. I'm kind of pissed, actually. I feel like every time I fire up steam I have to deal with some sort of crap. Last time I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling after getting frustrated trying to get Portal to work.

Woah, never mind. As I was typing this the game started loading. Maybe it didn't finish updating, since it has 2 minutes of downloading to do before I can play the game. I wonder how rusty I am.

Update.

Did decent. Went on a bit of a rampage and then ran into a wall. Feeling meh about it. I don't know if it's rose colored glass, but I feel like I used to get more engrossed.

On each of my games I got booted after the first death for "not doing anything".

Sucks. Maybe I lucked out with my server choice.

but there are achivement servers so u can unlock stuff pretty quick.

hang in there shorty, I'm not that great but it really doesn't take that much effort to be come OK like me. One thing you don't want to do is leave the game running while you grab a snack, inactivity will get you booted quickly.

You will get kicked for inactivity in most servers; many have an automated countdown that warns you, at least the ones I play on do that. Feel free to add me "KeithTalent" if you want to play on an ok server that will not kick you just for being a noob.

There are tons of stuff that I do not like about tf2, and its not just the updates.

For one example, the game is overly balanced.

I've seen it all now. People complained about all the free updates, complain about all the new maps, new weapons, new everything, even complain that the game is free! Now they're complaining that it's too balanced! I have to laugh.

I haven't seen anyone yet with the full set, but from the specs, probably.

Tomislav might need to be nerfed a bit, and I think the Reserve Shooter needs an upgrade. 15% faster switch is basically unnoticeable, and then you only get 3 seconds of mini-crits on airborne targets. Meh.

It wasnt me. I moved around. I got into the action. I saw a vote for ban, and on the voice I heard the dude say "HE'S NOT DOING ANYTHING!" which I knew darn well was bullshit.

Screw those guys. They can "rule" the interwebs all they want. Ima go get some booze and hookers and show them whats what.

99% of my TF2 gaming when I played regularly was on 1 server. If you find 1 really good server, it makes a world of difference.
