Thanks for heads up. This game is a lot of fun. They definitely have bugs and balancing issues to work out though. Maybe this patch will fix some.

Some minor news from their forums on next patch.

Patch 1.4 - All informations
When?
The Patch 1.4 will be published this week. But I assume not today (5th June 07), because the devs are still finetuning the balancing. As soon as I got the final release date.

Changelog
There is no Changelog, it will be released only with the final release of Patch 1.4. But if you read the forum, you can encounter some postings of RP that says what has been fixed. Beside the usual bugfixing (Quests, graphical glitches/clipping), they revised the complete balancing. Thus makes it more interesting espacially on higher levels.

The list of the further changes is long, I've extracted some highlights:
Optimized horses (they are not fearing anymore little spiders), Thiefing/Murdering in closed Rooms are not detected anymore, more graphical options like Depth of Field, Visibility range for slower machines), inventory is bigger and can be scrolled, Magic Cards can be moved one by one with ALT-LMK, items in inventory can be moved completly with CTRL-LMK.

Reset / Start a new game
To gather all benefits from the patch, you have to start a new game/char. You can, you must not: You can still load old savegames. I asked Reality Pump to sort the changelog depending if the change will require a new game or not. So you can see what you abdicate if you decide to not restart. That applies mainly to changes in gameplay, especially balancing.

A Reset for the Multiplayer will be needed.

What comes after 1.4?
There are already plans for Patch 1.5, but there exists no detailed information and we also don't have a release date. There's no need to ask for - we will announce it when the time has come. We plan to do a Patchtest for 1.5, too.

IGN as more Two Worlds info.

Mounted Combat

Unlike Oblivion, you will be able to fight from horseback in Two Worlds. Battling from the saddle can be tricky, and will likely take a little getting used to, but once you have the controls down, the advantages of doing so become clear.

Whether you're using a melee weapon or a bow, attacking from the back of a beast allows you to make quick entries and retreats to and from combat. Nothing beats charging into a group of orcs with your sword held high. Also, if you've invested some points into your Riding skill, you'll get the added benefit of dealing extra damage when you're battling non-mounted opponents. Just watch out for those wielding a spear and using the Unseat skill. They'll knock you off your horse and flat on your back!

Eurogamer review of Two Worlds (Xbox 360 version)here

Despite our reservations about some parts of the game, then, we're certainly looking forward to throwing ourselves into a longer session with Two Worlds. With just a few scant hours spent in a very early build of the game, it's already obvious that the world and storyline on offer here is rich and interesting, with a freedom of choice and action which will appeal to anyone who enjoys role-playing gaming. If Oblivion stole away plenty of your chilly winter evenings last year, then Two Worlds could be just the thing to occupy some of your hot summer nights.

Update on the 1.4 patch.

In ancient world and medieval times people decapitates bearer of bad news.

What should I say: Friday morning I sent feedback to RP and got the final changelog as an answer, but with the notice that they are still working on a bug that has been introduced in 1.3.9 (Bandits, Patchtesters know what I mean). Friday evening I got the message that they couldn't fix it.

To cut a long story short: Patch 1.4 will not be released on friday. You maybe ask when... I don't have the answer, but I have a please: Don't ask when.

As a consolation I brought you some new features that will be introduced in 1.4:
Vit,Str, Dex and Willpower timed potion effect displayed in inventory, Show hit/damage and player info, Bow auto aiming option added, Magic aiming cursor visible even if attacking spell is not highlighted, Four new armour sets added.

Magic system@IGN

Most on the wizard path will likely choose one school of magic as their primary focus, and quickly pump up that skill to the highest level as quickly as possible. Which school to specialize in will boil down to a matter of preference for some, but you may find yourself beefing up the type of magic you've found the most cards for.

Every spell has a card associated with it and just like any other piece of equipment, you'll have to buy, find or steal them to put them in your inventory. Also like any other equipment in the game, you can stack cards that are the same to create more powerful versions of that spell. In addition, you'll also occasionally find booster cards that have such effects as reducing the mana required to cast a spell or increasing a spell's duration. Booster cards can be stacked as well.

There's no limit to how many spell or booster cards you can stack on top of one another, but there is one thing that will keep you from going too crazy.

1.4 patch has been released.

After paying close attention to dedicated fans, the Two Worlds development team at Reality Pump have been hard at work preparing the official 1.4 update for Topware's epic free-roaming RPG. A huge number of suggestions, proposals and requests from Two World's steadily-growing fanbase have been incorporated into the 1.4 file, which marks a significant update from smaller updates released soon after the game's European mainland release.

Coming in at 298 MB for users updating from the 1.0 retail version (1.3 > 1.4: 176 MB), the 1.4 update brings a considerable improvement in both gameplay and technical terms and is not to be missed by anyone who's been lured into Two Worlds' rich and incredibly detailed universe. The 1.4 update will also be included in the US and UK retail versions, which SouthPeak Games will be releasing in late summer 2007. The 1.4 update can be downloaded from the support area.

Go to update section for the 1.4 patch.

Bestiary info over@IGN .

Dragons
Hit Points: 20,000-50,000
Fight with: Lance, Halberd, Earth Magic

Antaloor is home to a variety of these might creatures, all of them deadly. There's the sand dragons of the Drak'ar Desert, the rock dragons of the Badlands, the lava dragons in the volcanic plains of GorGammar, and the one-of-a-kind king of lizards, the White Dragon. Defeating any one of these creatures is a challenge since they'll rip you apart with their teeth and claws at close range, and blast you with their fiery breath from a distance. Your best bet when battling a dragon is to constantly stay on the move, striking and then running to a new position, making the most of your comparatively small size.

Heh I tried taking on a lava dragon just for shits and giggles. Fire magic isn't the way to go, neither is a sword, nor is a bow. With the damage I was doing it would have taken half an hour or so to kill it :p Btw has Two Worlds released yet in the U.S/UK ??? I thought it would be August for you guys.

Btw, I played the fully patched game, and I think it's a pretty darn good game, good looking too. The multiplayer needs some improvement though.

Theres another two worlds thread, I posted a link in it for some screenshots I made myself when reviewing the game, might be worth it to look up. Btw the UK release won't be needing patches afaik, it will be shipping with patch 1.4-1.5, so it should be an almost bugless experience for you.

Two Worlds hi-res map can be found here .

With over 300 main missions and side quests, there's certainly no shortage of things for your character to do in Two Worlds. Simply walking into a town and chatting with a few villagers is likely to bless you with hours of activity. But beyond all this standard adventuring goodness, the world of Antaloor hides many hidden areas that no quest will take you to. Dangerous places filled with treasure for those brave and smart enough to find them.

Also a review over@PALGN

Two Worlds does offer some fun, reasonably enjoyable gameplay. Its flaws are minor but unfortunately amplified by the fact that they?re poking out of a game which joins a series of titles in the same style. The addition of a fairly substantial multiplayer component may change things slightly, but at its core it is still the same game as the single-player. Two Worlds should satisfy those pining for some fantasy RPG action, but that said there are a great deal of titles doing a better, and more interesting, job of providing for this need.
