[after i told you "other people" in the G3 forums were having problems like mine]

oh, the "irony"

:D

finally ... your CPU is getting a little "slow" for a HD2900xt or 8800GTX :p
-especially at resolutions over 12x10

Actually my 7800GT OC is still holding out quite well,I'm not wasting money on a new CPU,I'm not a person that upgrades every 6 months just to get best out of everything,my upgrades normally last 2 years or so ,"Joe" can have the faster CPU, I rather save the money for when I need to upgrade the CPU.

My heart is on 8800GTS or 2900XT,will get transplanted into my Quad core rig, later anyway .

Lets hope the new Stalker patch works ;).

the 7800GT OC is a decent GPU ... i had the 7800GS OC ... and your 3800+ x2 is a very decent CPU ... the lowest speed CPU that will still take decent advantage of a GTS ... but not a GTX ... it is a *bottleneck* for the fastest GPUs

HOWEVER, one thing you should realize ... you CPU basically determines the minimum-maximum frame rates ... if your resolution is "somewhat high" ... your CPU still will 'chug-chug-chug' no matter what GPU you have in it ;)

and STALKER seems to need a LOT of CPU "oomph" ... i could NOT run with more than 10% grass density nor shadows on Grass ... and lighting distance was 65% with my x1950p *same system* - that's with a P4EE@3.74G - roughly equal to your AMD CPU

simply upgrading the CPU allowed for 100% max in *every setting*

just to keep 'in mind'

for the future

and i AM looking forward to 2Worlds

it 's a drag without a dragon
:D

i *really* want a "pet dragon" ... something i can "tame" and fly ... raining down fire on my enemies ... perhaps for Fable III

havent seen that since Drakkan :p
[that chick's butt was cute too ... for an old game]

EDIT, Mem, i also posted in that STALKER-memory hogg thread ...
try LOWERING your resolution ... you are overtaxing your CPU at 16x10 [period]
--i *bet* it will run OK at 14x9 ... or lower ... no Video card upgrade will help you there

Two worlds is fun. Been playing on PC that last few days. It is similar to oblivion. Still trying to learn all the stuff which isnt easy. There are a few concerns I have with it. It seems to be somewhat buggy and "quirky." Animations for some things are odd. The graphical performance is rough. My 7900GT is stretched to its limits now even with medium quality.

The audio in this game seemed fairly poor to me. Its buggy as of right now(If you go to menu and change settings, you have to restart the entire game to get sound back). It seems like they didnt put much thought into it either. You can swing your sword and do other stuff and it hardly even makes a noise.

While I havnt gotten that far into the game yet, the combat seems dull and basic hack & slash. This was a disappointment to me. It doesnt seem like there are any combat combos to do, it is just hit your mouse button over and over. So fighting enemies becomes, standing in front of them pressing your mouse button as fast as possible, then moving on to the next foe. I havnt figured out the whole spells system yet either, but it also seems like it needs a little work.

Every game has its issues. All in all, it seems like a fun game. Im sure after it is released there will be many patches. The flaws will most likely not prevent me from finishing the entire game. :p

I'm guessing B-I-T-T-O-R-R-E-N-T :D

BTW: It has been leaked on torrent sites.

Nice. They need patches. That one doesnt help me but, the game definitely isnt all that smooth running even on medium. I would suspect many patches to come.

By the time UK and rest of the world gets the game, there should be a lot of bug fixes in the patches by then,I can wait ,worst game I have encountered for bugs is Stalker (good game but so buggy).

Yeah I know I played and beat stalker as well. Boring game anyways if you ask me. Ending was terrible also, which I thought was funny considering there were a number of people who through their distorted logic, thought it was the best game ever. Many AI issues when I played it within the first week of release, probably partly why I didnt like it as much. It was fun but...definitely not something with replay value if you ask me.

Anyways. Two Worlds is fun. It is less refined than oblivion though. There seems to be a number of bugs I have already encountered within the first 2 hours of playing. Sound comes and goes. It seems less atmospheric than other games.(IE. You dont really hear a lot of environment stuff around you). If you go change settings and hit apply, your sound disappears. Forces you to exit, then reload.

For some reason, when you die, it doesnt let you load a game either. I go to hit load and it gives me some odd message. I have to exit and reload, then load every time I die. These are nothing serious, im sure they will be worked out.

There is a lot of positive stuff I like.

There are so many spells and skills in the game, its almost absurd. They did spells a little differently, which is nice to see. You have to FIND/STEAL/BUY the spells in the game. There are 5 possible spell schools to learn. Air Magic, Fire Magic, Earth magic, Water magic, and Necromancy. Each of these school trees have a possible 20-25 skills(I didnt actually count). Basically when you level up or get skill points, you put them in one of those school categories which increases the effectiveness of spells. You still have to FIND/STEAL/BUY the spells though to get them, you dont automatically get the spells as you advance.

On top of all the magic spells of course, there are a bunch of melee skills and archer skills as well.

They did enemies/monsters different from other games as well. Basically, you can get a number of monsters with ranges of levels as you travel. The FOES do NOT advance with your leveling, as in other games. So it is possible to meet a foe that can kill you in 1 hit while roaming around(IE. Like the damn bears on the first town. If you see a bear, RUN!).
Also, one other thing I am not sure I like or dislike yet, is monsters do not come back. Once you kill them, they are dead forever. They will always remain dead.

Anyways. My little summary so far. :)

It does now thanks to the likes of Turbine and Guild Wars.

Diablo II I guess could be considered an MMO now.

In no way, shape, or form is GW a MMO. Lobbies do not count for content unless you are a marketing major.

Some news,

Wednesday 16th May/...SouthPeak Games has announced multiplayer details for Two Worlds, its upcoming free-roaming RPG epic for the Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft® and PC.

Two Worlds' multiplayer mode is completely separate from the game's epic solo adventure, with players able to create custom characters around traditional multiplayer RPG classes. A hub-like lobby area will allow participants to form small teams of up to 8 players in order to tackle a wide variety of team matches, as well as engage in familiar online activities such as chatting and trading.

With new team matches, equipment and other off-the-wall activities such as horse racing and monster hunting in the pipeline, Two Worlds is set to become one of the most comprehensive single and multiplayer RPGs available on any system.

Melanie Mroz, Executive Vice President, SouthPeak Games says: ?We're thrilled with the progress that Two Worlds' multiplayer content is making, although the extensive play-balancing and testing that content requires has necessitated a shift of the release date to late July. We want Two Worlds to truly live up to its potential and gamers can rest assured that it will be well worth the wait.?

Two Worlds will be in stores for Xbox 360 and PC in July 2007.

FYI I received an email about the release date for my TWO Worlds pre-order in the UK,date I was given is 20th July.

This game blows for the following reasons:

Thieving skills are completely and totally useless. If you sneak into houses to steal stuff, and nobody is around or can see you, the second you grab something the entire town comes rushing in a huge mob to kill you. Good old psychic townsfolk that can see through walls.

Also pickpocketing is pointless. You try to pick pocket somebody for 10 minutes, then eventually you'll get it and it says "You were successful at pickpocketing", and yet as far as I can tell you don't actually steal anything. Your money is not increased, neither do you receive any new items in your inventory.

Because of the above two, "sneaking" is completely pointless as well. You also have no idea how well they can see you in sneak mode, it's just a big guess.

Add on top of this the crappy horse mechanics. It's slow to respond (which wouldn't be so bad because it's almost lifelike in that fact) but the kicker is the fact that the horse runs into invisible walls without fail every few seconds. The horse can't even climb a slight grade pathway without giving you the most frustrating 15 minutes of your life. This in turn makes every horse related skill completely useless as well.

My limited use with the bow has shown me it is inaccurate, slow, frustrating and buggy. This leaves you with the the options of being some kind of mage or warrior. Did I mention that you have to be a human mage or warrior? Because of the storyline there is no race customization or statistics. Add to this terrible and incomplete fighting animations/weapon harnessing, voice acting and bugs I didn't even mention and you got yourself a solid 4.2/10.

Sounds like a few patches should fix those problems, I'm glad the game is not out until 20th July in UK,by then a few problems should of been fixed.

Well i've been playing this game for the last few hours. So far it's been fantastic. I'm a warrior though.

And this is NOT an MMO, and i wish the industry will stop using the MMO category for these kinds of games.

Another new review@[url="http://www.actiontrip.com/reviews/twoworlds.phtml"]ActionTrip[/url] .

Overall, we were mostly frustrated while playing this game. Chalk it up to a poorly optimized engine, a dull and generic fantasy world, all drawn from an exceedingly overused gameplay concept.

Two Worlds hits the States next month, which should give the developers enough time to iron out all the technical hitches. Three patches have already been released and you would be highly advised to install them before playing the game.

Once again it seems it was rushed out the door. When will companies realize that they're not going to be successful putting out these terrible releases.

I believe release date for US is 26th June and July 20th for UK,so that does give them some time to get those patches out.

RPGs nowadays seem to be rushed out too early, gone are the days where developers could take their time,it's all deadlines and money nowadays.
