Can you believe the President of the United States is saying this shit? Never in my lifetime would I have imagined this shit happening. I would have bet on nuclear war before something like this.

Same here.

Mark Kornblau, the head of PR for NBC News and MSNBC, tweeted a similar, oh so appropriate response:
"Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, 'it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.' "

Not to defend her, but she dropped that campaign I think. Though I think you'd have to start something to stop doing it also.

That being said, this new barrage of tweets is WAY over the top even for him. Honestly, it's like he just keeps pushing the envelope after you think he couldn't get any shittier.

Could anyone picture Obama going online and saying stuff like that?

Morning Joe is interesting this morning, I recommend listening

I just caught the tail end of a statement about the White House reaching out to Joe Scarborough and saying that the National Inquirer had a story about Joe frequently buying beer(?) from a convince store(?) and they said they (the White House) can kill that story if Mika & Joe start speaking better of the President. There also was something about them being instructed to call the President directly about the matter.
Foot note: President Trump is a close friend of the guy who owns the inquirer.

Second point is apparently an un-named Congressman called Joe to give him a heads up that during a closed door meeting the President was side tracked and went on a 20 minute rant about Joe and especially Mika. The un-named guy found is so odd he felt it best to give Joe a heads up

Disclosure: I just turned it on, there are some self serving statements but it's hard to address this topic without doing that.

The allegation that Trump tried to blackmail Joe and Mika into positive coverage is kind of amazing. It seems totally in character with the Trump we all know and love.

Doesn't seem your read on it was off base.
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/p...-trump-tweets-national-enquirer-20170630.html

On Morning Joe Friday morning, the now-engaged pair offered details about the allegation.

“We got a call from the White House that the National Enquirer is going to run a negative story against you guys. Donald is friends with the guy who runs the National Enquirer,” Scarborough said, claiming he received multiple calls from three individuals at the top of the Trump administration saying the president would call the Enquirer’s owner David Pecker and spike the story if he personally apologized to him for Morning Joe’s coverage.

I want to see Scarborough or Brzezinski tweet that "Trump better hope there are no tapes" right about now.

BUT WAIT! There's more!

Joe has the texts and phone records...

Yet another lie. I have texts from your top aides and phone records. Also, those records show I haven't spoken with you in many months.

Donald J. Trump
Watched low rated @Morning_Joe for first time in long time. FAKE NEWS. He called me to stop a National Enquirer article. I said no! Bad show

Holy shit if he has evidence that the Office of the President attempted to blackmail them that's brutal.

So let me get this straight: the white house (Trump and/or staff) basically engaged in a shakedown like you might see by the lower level of the Mafia (say, some of the folks on the Fargo tv show, which is excellent btw). The shakedown is keeping the Enquirer from running a story about someone buying beer. And does so in a way that can be verified.

That's just too surreal for me to wrap my head around. And pitiful.

I'm in no way vested in the soap opera "As the President Tweets"...but can someone loop me in on what is such a big deal about a legal aged adult buying beer at a convenience store? Has Scarborough come out as a recovering alcoholic or something? What's the angle there?

Holy fuck this man is even more petty than I could possibly imagine.

I believe the implication was Joe was wandering in at all hours apparently drunk but I'm not sure about that

I would say "unbelievable!" but, unfortunately, that ceased being true about anything related to Trump a long time ago.

It's legal, why should I care?

If mornin' Joe is drunk, that still doesn't bode well for Trump. A drunk guy who care speak coherently, make valid points, and is respectable as far as I can tell....still speaks better than trump....lol

I'm going to guess it was going to be Mika driving Joe insane, complete speculation on my part
