You're the one contextualizing.

He's trying really hard to obfuscate. Sessions dodged the question & lied in the process.

The only way he didn't lie is if he genuinely forgot about the Russian Ambassador coming to his office. If that's true he shouldn't be AG anyway.

He saw the Ambassador as part of Trump's Campaign staff earlier in the year as well.

The astounding part is his eagerness to lie when he wasn't even called upon to reveal the information. Even more amazing is the willingness of his Senatorial compatriots to buy into it. They have no integrity & no respect for the Institution they serve.

With the current news, this thread is full of self pwnage.

FFS we told you so. It was so painfully obvious as to be pathetic.

So now that it's undeniable, and Trump has now hired an "I was framed" lawyer is anyone in this thread FINALLY willing to admit they were wrong???

Unless hell has frozen over, I suspect we will hear nothing but *crickets*.

Here's this about the "coffee boy" George Papadopoulos:

https://thinkprogress.org/papadopoulos-coffee-boy-emails-campaign-role-30b9cbcaf697/

Effing, lying disgusting administration. Damn, I cannot wait until the cheeto
goes down or his term, ends. Whichever is first.

Given that I'm the same age as the Traitor-in-Chief, I began to hope that I would live to piss on his grave.

I don't know whether I have OAB, but I feel awfully impatient. He could be living in what he calls the White House Dump until January of 2021. The Unknown which could occur in that span of time, or simply the cumulative exposure to his toxic image and voice on the Tee-Vee, could give me a stroke or a heart attack.

If context is so important then why did Sessions go back on record to say there was contact with Russians

https://www.google.com/amp/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1DE0GS

"I do now recall." He just forgot temporarily, see.

He was asked in the context of collusion with the Russian's which his answer was no. Bumping into a Russian in the hall or at a meet and greet with scores of other people is an entirely different matter. You know context.

Yeh, like the context of meeting privately with Kislyak in his own office. It's not like Kislyak was wandering the halls in the Senate office building & stumbled into Sessions' office, is it?

"Sessions told the House Judiciary Committee that he now recalls a meeting last year with then-candidate Trump where a campaign adviser said he had connections with Moscow and could help arrange a Trump meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin."

That sounds nothing like the context you are describing.

So... Kislyak was just walking around and bumped into sessions????

Russia’s ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Jeff Sessions during the 2016 presidential race, contrary to public assertions by the embattled attorney general, according to current and former U.S. officials

So you are right.. context is everything.. they only talked about Trumps campaign which is only the only the topic of this thread..

Maybe you forgot this part.. Sessions recused himself from the investigation.. So again.. if context matters why did Sessions recuse himself.. if it was just a simple bumping into him at the water cooler then it would be no big deal..

Current and former U.S. officials said that that assertion is at odds with Kislyak’s accounts of conversations in two encounters during the campaign, one in April ahead of Trump’s first major foreign policy speech and another in July on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention.

Officials emphasized that the information contradicting Sessions comes from U.S. intelligence on Kislyak’s communications with the Kremlin, and they acknowledged that the Russian ambassador could have mischaracterized or exaggerated the nature of his interactions.

Sessions had a third meeting with Kislyak in his Senate office in September. Officials declined to say whether U.S. intelligence agencies intercepted any Russian communications describing the third encounter.
