Here’s hoping the headline and that’s it. Don’t show coverage of the service. Don’t ever talk about him again

I don't think people were upset by his announcement either. I think the obvious reason for his declining support is people don't like losing. Trump's problem is that he's good at winning GOP primaries and terrible at winning general elections.

I'd say it's not just that Trump lost — it's that he's been burning bridges ever since he lost. January 6th, the documents at Mar-A-Lago, the fruitless legal challenges, grousing about it with every rally and Truth Social post... he's not only a sore loser, he's making clear that he has no real objections to illegal bids to hold on to power. His pathological narcissism is on full display, and even some of the sycophants from Trump's term think that's too much.

We can safely agree that Trump's 2016 win was largely dictated by a combination of overconfidence on the left (and thus voter apathy) as well as the right's bitter hatred of Hillary Clinton. It's just that the GOP is now realizing that it won because of a perfect storm, not because of Trump's personality or business acumen.

Every day I check CNN web in hopes of finding the breaking news headlines DONALD TRUMP DEAD. And expecting that cause of death to be from choking on a KFC chicken leg, or hit in the head by a golf ball, or overwhelming stress from his tax returns in the hands of investigators, or an engine falling off his airplane while in flight, or being poisoned by Melania after Melania finds evidence that hubby Donald is still screwing Stormy Daniels AND still paying her off.

Yeah... been hoping to see those breaking news headlines for over six years now. Haven't we all? But with knowing how it goes when it comes to Donald Trump, those headlines will probably read DONALD TRUMP REVIVED AFTER CHOKING ON A KFC CHICKEN LEG. And the main headline appearing right about that would read JOE BIDEN DEAD FROM STROKE.
Because.... that's how it usually goes for democrats.
Nixon wasn't assassinated, but JFK was. And so was his brother too.
Damn the luck.
But never give up the hope. I'll keep checking CNN every day. Won't we all....

Him dying before being held accountable would make him a martyr. Fuck that. He needs to live in maximum shame FIRST.

I doubt that he has much more than a passing third graders knowledge of the constitution and what it even is and stands for. And especially what's written in it. He has no regard for ANY laws. They are there to be broken if it serves his interest. My own interpretation of his statement is simpler: “O True Believers, do whatever it takes to get me out of trouble, no matter how extreme. Use your imagination, but nothing’s off limits.” It’s a con-artist trick: never say anything that you’ll be held to, but tell people what they want to hear. Plus, Trump’s thought process is so incoherent that we can’t really conclude anything about what he really means based on what he says.

The Trumpists reactions around me is pretty clear. They say two things:

Trump didn’t say it. He was saying the “steal” terminated the Constitution.

And....

He’s right. There should be a revolution.

Trump doesn’t really understand that there is such a thing as truth, and such things as facts, and such things as laws. He thinks that if he just shouts loudly enough, the world will bend around to give him whatever he wants.

This technique seems to have worked pretty well for him for most of his life, due to the financial and social position that he started off with. It must have been and must be a source of massive and continuous frustration to him that it hasn’t worked as well since January 2016: first Congress wouldn’t always do what he wanted, then electoral officials wouldn’t always do what he wanted, then the courts, and the Supremes, wouldn’t do what he wanted. I don’t think he fully understands why it’s not working. He's mentally ill. He doesn't have grasp on reality if the reality is not what he wants. There have been people, all through his life, who wouldn’t do what he wanted – but before, if he shouted loudly enough and/or waved enough money and/or lawsuits around, somebody else would show up who would do it. Not this time.

There is a truth, a psychological fact about human beings and it is that the ego is the armor we create when the pain of childhood moral correction creates a level of shame and guilt the psyche can’t consciously tolerate. Thus the ego is a product of mental illness but also the thing that saved us.

This split condition leaves us in a catch 22 condition. The only way back to mental health is to die to the thing that is sacred because it is what saved us as children.

The result is that the drive to heal the psyche can only happen unconsciously as a powerful death wish. The more massive the ego the greater the disaster it will take to kill it and thus the greater the disaster it will seek to create.

Unfortunately we are all the same which means we will not be happy seeing this. We cling to our sacred sickness.

But you never know who might be interested because instead of creating a personal hell to back into, one can always turn abound and consciously dive in and relive and remember the pain.

This did not even make the news in the conservative news outlets as far as I can tell.

Republicans and conservatives just do not care about the constitution from what I can tell.
What? They all hold a little copy of it. Just like Trump held a bible.

I think you give him too much credit even going that high. The average conservative (and American adults in general, truthfully) have a 3rd grader's knowledge level, or worse. Donald doesn't understand ziploc bags better than a 3rd grader. He has no fucking clue when it comes to the constitution.

And maybe some wet wipes for those of us that aren't sure about an unaerated stream of water aimed up our bungholes. I think our collective BHs deserve a break.

Yeah yesterday I saw Marc Thiessen of all people writing an editorial about how we need to dump Trump because he's become a danger to the Constitution as if our good friend Marc hadn't spent the last seven years promoting him in column after column after column.

Better late than never I guess, but there's nothing like waiting until the ship is underwater to run for the lifeboats. If they had any integrity, they'd have dumped him years ago.

Methinks Trump doesn't understand that without the status of the office he enjoyed and abused at his leisure, his off the wall rants coming from that drug addled brain of his doesn't have the same punch, nor the air of authority his cringe-worthy musings carried while he was the Lunatic Right's God given gift to the nation.

Of course, having now being cornered by the authorities from all directions of the compass must have him in a state of heightened paranoia that can only drive him to say and do things that makes him appear more ludicrous than ever, lest we forget how hilarious and jaw dropping his words and deeds were before he was mired neck deep in the same bullshit he was flinging at the world with glee.

So many trees will grow from all the fertilizer that's deposited at the burial site that you'd be net carbon positive even if you used some of the trees to manufacture said TP. Hell, it could even be triple ply. It would surely have more of an environmentally-friendly impact than whatever he did in office.

We need to have a thread titled "Crazy shit Trump said today"

Crazy people say shit at the clouds/ moon.

The difference is Trump is actually able to pull it off if you ignore him! (or enough people ignore him.. like Hildabeast and her supporters)
