So what's the argument then? All people here are saying is that they can, not that they should. Free speech doesn't mean freedom from speech you don't like.
A recurring theme that I've found among social conservatives is that the only freedoms that exist are the ones that they engage in. The kneejerk response is that people shouldn't be doing that anyway, so let's pass a law and get government involved.

Don't be a hippie liberal and DON'T burn the fucking flag! Just Because you can doesn't mean you should.

Would you burn American currency?

Don't burn the flag, be a capitalist and make underwear out of it.

Translation: your mom's basement. STFU already. Both conservatives and liberals posting here think you are an unequaled twat...

Well, it was my carefully considered guess that his gun room was located in either WoW Legion or COD Black Ops 3. ;)

I was wrong, you're right sires. You're perfectly fine to burn the American flag that men and woman swore and fought under. It's YOUR right to be a dick.

It is a subjective thing. Factor that in and then take a step back.

Do those people fight and die for the flag? Or the ideals it represents?

They fight and die "under the flag", because it's America's equivalent to socialism. Don't soldiers get all sorts of stuff, like cheap healthcare and a proper wage?

The soldier worship and "boys will be boys" attitude towards, ehm, certain acts of divergence around military bases probably gives 'em a bit of a booster.

lol... brave little johnny conner and his big bad guns.
go get 'em!!

Lol! Its not a bag, it's a room. Something tells me the guy is trying to over compensate for something. I'm guessing his close relationship with his mom is the root cause of his pussyhood.

Obviously you have no clue. Lower ranked service personnel with families meet the requirements for food stamps. As for the free medical, most people that are serving are young so they barely use medical services.

That is until they get hurt, then they use quite a bit of medical care.
That's also besides the educational handouts, the housing discounts, etc.

The 'food stamp' business is pretty misleading though as living in base housing dramatically lowers your 'income' and disproportionately high numbers of military spouses don't work.

All in all, compensation and benefits for being in the military are excellent, especially if you consider the qualifications necessary to join. Free medical, free training, better than free college, lifelong civil service benefits, etc.

The guy you are responding to is pretty bizarrely anti-military and what he says is usually ridiculous but let's not pretend people in the military aren't taken care of just fine.

I've worked around the military for almost 37 years. In the early days, things were definitely tight for the lower ranks. These days, they are very well compensated.

looks like this has done the usual drumpf spin... now we're discussing soldiers benefits, or lack thereof.

Everybody is a good person in his or her own mind if nowhere else, but almost nobody is a good person because he or she is his or her own self. We have all been made to feel that we are worth something depending on what good we support and identify with. Many people are great because they are religiously moral or great patriots to pick a couple of millions of examples. Some people are great because they honor a flag, an external symbol of much more abstract concepts. So some can become identified with the symbol and others to the principles of the republic for which it stands, as we all used to say when we were brainwashed into identifying as Americans in school.

Well once a person becomes great for identifying with something beloved out there, and not for ones humanity within, all sorts of conflicts arise when that ego identity is threatened. And it's bound to happen because not only do we have a need to feel great for being identified with something great, having lost a sense that one should feel just great simply being one's self, after that we don't just need to be great but better than anybody else. So anybody who attacks what I identify with that makes me great attacks me and I will try to hurt them for that just as I was hurt when I lost my sense of self worth. And there will be no end to this as long as we need an ego to protect us from despair.

Damn you hit on something there. As a hunter in WoW Legion, I would LOVE a room within TrueShot lodge to store and display all my bows. I believe that is a marvelous idea. I am going to send a message to Blizzard with your idea. Thanks man!

Rubbish. The vast majority of people are decent and good. It is an evolved trait that has kept us from extinction.
