Ah yes, the classic "I support free speech unless you disagree with me, then I want you dead" argument.
You got it! Or maybe the " if you'd rather waive a Mexican flag instead, we'll cover your transportation there!"

Well, seeing as this is a favorite jolly thing to do in many places all over the world, making it a jailable offense in the USA will make it just that much more intense and fun elsewhere. Mission accomplished, Donald?

"waive" doesn't mean what you think it does.

Are we allowed to have Irish flags in our house without fear of deportation? I confess that my wife has a few.

I will also admit that I had a T-shirt with an American flag that I simply tossed into the garbage because it had holes in it. I wasn't arrested for that crime at the time but I sorta feel like I should have been. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for great patriots like yourself who look after and protect our freedoms. It is a such a relief knowing that you guys are on top of the truly important issues of critical importance to America. Idiots like me worry about silly things like the loss of manufacturing, the eroding wealth of the middle class, etc.... you know.... the things that really don't matter.

That's the point. The only difference in burning a flag in protest and burning a flag out of respect is the speech aspect of the act. The conduct is the same. A law that would ban burning the flag in protest is purely an attack of free speech, nothing else.
I believe that most of us have figured out that Trump sends out these little 3am tweets just to provide red meat to his kneejerking base and give them something pointless to get riled up about for a news cycle or 2. And, as evidenced by this particular example, it's a successful strategy for political distraction and scapegoating. The only way it could have worked out any better for him was if some idiot leftists had actually gone out and burned some flags.

I repeat: President Troll.

Not to mention the fact that they are very selective about who's rights are important who's are not. Guns check yes, free speech check no unless the content is agreeable to them. I don't like abortion but I respect the right of a person to have governance over themselves just like obese Faux Christians do at the buffet. Faux in that the bible clearly states that their bodies are supposed to be the spiritual temple of God (YEAH RIGHT!).

The very same folks who cannot pass the bible's litmus test for a bona fide Christian provided in 1 John 4:1-2. nor do they follow the role modeling that Jesus - God in the flesh and the disciples provided to us as a witness of desirable behavior. Isn't it ironic that they are the bulk of the gun owners in this country even though the bible says thou shalt not kill?

You always know when you're debating with those without a position when they jump on an autocorrect spelling from your phone.

I believe the supreme court already took a very solid position on this, or are you above them?

You create these kind of laws and attorneys will drive mac trucks through these cases. We already know intent doesn't hold up well in court.

OK then you are a dumb ass.

As I stated earlier I will say it again.

Everybody has a right to burn a flag as per the constitution and I am all for the right to do so. Freedom of speech and all.

I also feel that a private citizen has the right to beat your ass for doing it.

I agree. I have never advocated for a law to prohibit free speech.

I just feel that if you are burning a US Flag and someone takes offense and beats your ass I think they are justified in doing it.

Just like you have the right to call someones mother names etc, but you might get an ass whipping for doing it.

Wishing physical violence for speech you don't like is just wrong. The first part of your post was on target. The red part is bat shit crazy.

The only person doing jail time is going to be your citizen who just committed an assault.

I didn't "wish" anything. I stated what I feel. I really don't care what you think.

If someone called your wife a whore to your face what would you do? Apologize.

Walk away since it isn't true. If I called your wife a whore would you throw down because it is true?
