So the leftist cry foul when it's about the 1st but never about the 2nd.
It's entirely possible to want to see all of the amendments and the Constitution as a whole upheld by law. I don't agree with the wording of the second amendment, because the authors couldn't have predicted modern technology, but the solution to that is another amendment to the Constitution, not a patchwork of laws at various levels of government.

So Trump values a piece of cloth called a flag more than a human being?

What happened to the Christian values?

I may have missed it but has anyone mentioned this yet?

"During the second segment of the interview, Letterman and Trump started talking about the then-recent terrorist attacks at the office of the French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris. The publication was well-known for publishing material that mocked Islam.

As the conversation turned to freedom of expression, Letterman brought up flag burning.

“Here’s the example that I’m always proud of as an American,” the host told Trump. “People, to demonstrate, they think, we’re really gonna stick it the United States. ‘We’re going to set fire to the flag.’ ”

“Yeah, right,” Trump said.

“And people get — ‘Oh my God!’ ” Letterman said. “Well, no. If that’s how you feel, go ahead and burn the flag. Because this country is far greater than that symbol, and that symbol is standing for freedom of expression.”

“Sure. You’re 100 percent right,” Trump said, noting that Letterman seemed worked up about the issue. “I understand where you’re coming from. It’s terrific.”

Continuing to defend Trump's horseshit. Dumbing down America one red state citizen at a time.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!
He should be impeached and hung in the public square. Anybody who doesn't pick a fight with the host of a show should be shot on site if they ever contradict that host later in life. This is just unacceptable. Grab your pitchforks!

BTW - for the rest of you red state morons here are the rules for US flag disposal as penned by the VFW. I guess we had better start rounding up those vets.

https://www.vfw.org/Flag

1. The flag should be folded in its customary manner.

2. It is important that the fire be fairly large and of sufficient intensity to ensure complete burning of the flag.

3. Place the flag on the fire.

4. The individual(s) can come to attention, salute the flag, recite the Pledge of Allegiance and have a brief period of silent reflection.

5. After the flag is completely consumed, the fire should then be safely extinguished and the ashes buried.

6. Please make sure you are conforming to local/state fire codes or ordinances.

Everybody is a good person in his or her own mind if nowhere else, but almost nobody is a good person because he or she is his or her own self. We have all been made to feel that we are worth something depending on what good we support and identify with. Many people are great because they are religiously moral or great patriots to pick a couple of millions of examples. Some people are great because they honor a flag, an external symbol of much more abstract concepts. So some can become identified with the symbol and others to the principles of the republic for which it stands, as we all used to say when we were brainwashed into identifying as Americans in school.

Well once a person becomes great for identifying with something beloved out there, and not for ones humanity within, all sorts of conflicts arise when that ego identity is threatened. And it's bound to happen because not only do we have a need to feel great for being identified with something great, having lost a sense that one should feel just great simply being one's self, after that we don't just need to be great but better than anybody else. So anybody who attacks what I identify with that makes me great attacks me and I will try to hurt them for that just as I was hurt when I lost my sense of self worth. And there will be no end to this as long as we need an ego to protect us from despair.
Thank you for your reasonable voice sir.

How about showing me one lie or you can apologize for the false accusation?
Let me rephrase. By honesty I mean given the assumption you have awareness of what is real and what is not when Trump outright lies just admit it and move on. Since this guy only tells the truth 1 out of 4 times you would at least get back some credibility.

That is done with respect for the flag. Are you a dumbass or what?
You create these kind of laws and attorneys will drive mac trucks through these cases. We already know intent doesn't hold up well in court.

Flag burning should be legal as long as it's wrapped around yourself
