LOL! I get a homework assignment!

Again:

What's more likely?

- The dispersal was in response to unruly behavior

or

- They used pepper spray / tear gas for no reason at all

I just pointed out how that stuff is supposed to be used and now I need to find some sort of evidence to prove what happened at a particular event, even though your implication that no rocks/bottles were thrown is highly unlikely.

I think you have a fair point even if it is specuation and potentially fake news. The main questions I have are a) were there mexicans there? and b) were they attempting to steal the cops jobs?

Yeah, why would police ever do something wrong? What's likely to me is that the use of force by the police was not appropriate.

Craven deference to law enforcement is a big reason we live in such a shitty authoritarian state now.

wtf is going on?
His recent "worship me" cabinet meeting says it all and these rallies are just a continuation of his philosophy. He wants attention from everyone and loves flattering speech and praise from everyone around him. He's so smug that I almost can't stand to see his facial expressions. This hypocrite will continue down this path until he passes on to the next life and we'll all have to pay for it.

It's another tactic Trump employs that was borrowed from Islamic dictators. They oppress the people and then blame America. Trump is doing the same thing. It's not me, it's America. Trump does deflection Muslim style and his followers love it.
But any one who believes the man has a set plan to dismantle America based on extensive, exhaustive study and devotion to a strategy or a specific belief is fooling themselves. He doesn't read, his attention span is too short and he worships and respects no one but himself. No, this is Donald Trump, any resemblance to historical or current dictators is a fluke. He's truly (all on his own) despicable, hate filled, egomaniacal, greedy, petty, filthy and yes... evil. What we're witnessing is his own personal approach to a playground and Thanks to being elected he thinks the playground belongs only to him. He doesn't share well or care about anyone else. He is a petulant, self-loving/loathing, gluttonous, bad seed of a child (As in The Omen's, Damien).

Trump should just hire some mexican "day labourers" to build the wall. Apparently those guys work for cheap. According to american TV shows I have seen you can pick up a gaggle? (whats the word for a large group of mexicans?) of them in store carparks and then pay them sweet fuck all.

Plus if some of them die during construction. So what?

Oh lol /hides

But it still looks like some russian or communist flag.

We both know the authorities would be concerned with public backlash if there was no justifiable reason for the dispersal.

The post I quoted said the protesters threw rocks and bottles.

I'm with you. OTOH, it's extremely easy for agent provocateurs to cast any demonstration into a bad light. We saw that in the 60's. It's also true that sometimes the local cops are just itching to break something up & are sometimes more tolerant, depending.

Given the climate, and numbers and coverage within the country I'm thinking the police had a long think before using any kind of force on protesters. It may be true or it may not that they were itching to spray them or crack their heads open but still, I'm leaning toward thinking they used it as a crowd control measure and not as a way to dole out punishment preemptively and unwarranted.

Like the general population, a lot of those cops have no love for Trump.

I'm still wondering what Trump meant when he said this at this rally:

He mean Duck Dynasty?
Yes. And what they want to recapture means trouble and harder times--they-are-a-coming. Saddest thing is, they know it but they have the feet dug in mentality that my husband occasionally uses when we disagree. The result...? Things get crazy! Choosing stupid because you don't want to be wrong never works out for anyone but mostly for my husband!... (and anyone who thinks that's a good way to improve a situation).

I'm guessing they are trump supporters and his Twitler Youth.

None of that is particularly surprising. They don't actually care about any of those things, they were just markers of tribal identity. Now they are being told tribal identity is defined as supporting whatever Trump does, so those other things fall by the wayside. It's really more about hating liberals than anything else in particular.

If/when Trump melts down completely and his failures can no longer be denied they will be perfectly happy to ditch him and latch on to something else. I fully expect that in a few years it will be strangely difficult to find many people who admit voting for Trump.

I wouldn't be so sure. Most of them have died off, but there have always been people who'd tell you that Joe McCarthy was right, that Commies were taking over the gubmint.

Persistence of belief among the true whackadoodles is amazing.

Here's some "Fake News" to pull you guys through the day...

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/29/politics/trump-phoenix-rally/index.html
I was just going to post this. I had to look at the multitude of trump threads to post it.

Donald Trump 'fires longtime aide because he did not get enough people at Phoenix rally'
https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-apos-fires-longtime-120835370.html

Apparently this guy, George gigicos was fired.

"The size of the crowd reportedly angered the president before he began speaking. Sources told Bloomberg that Mr Trump was unhappy while waiting to go on stage after cameras showed the arena was far from full."
"He is said to have ordered Keith Schiller, his long-standing assistant who now manages his private office, to tell Mr Gigicos, one of Mr Trump’s four longest-serving aides, that he would never again be allowed to organise a rally.

Mr Trump’s anger was visible in his speech, in which he lashed out at the media, Congress and several Republican senators."

All the cheeto cares about is crowd size. What freaking moron. 🙄

Look at the mess that's Hurricane Harvey. Making comments about the crowd size and not mentioning
about the tens of thousands of displaced people. His is without a doubt, the most ill-mannered, unsympathetic,
immoral person ever to serve as president.

As President, yes. As a human being, he's pretty gross. Right up there with some of the worst in my opinion. And I'm including historically heinous figures. Given free reign I cannot and do not want to imagine what hell he would unleash upon America and the world just to quell his spiteful, pretty, egomaniacal, gluttonous, hateful thirsts.

Trump is Hitler incarnate and he's already stated many times that he could probably get away with murdering a person in the streets. With ethics like this who needs oversight?😱

Trump has no real ideology and, while an obvious racist, he is not genocidal. Don't think he's gonna invade Austria either.

He's bad enough in his own right. You don't need the hyperbole.
