I'm glad you're not a cop

Yeah, I don't have any patience for idiots.

How do you live with yourself?

Very easily. I try not to surround myself with idiots.

Because the cop used physical force to subdue her because she was going to punch the cop in the face? She was still fighting in handcuffs, and after being told if she didn't knock it the fuck off, she would be tasered. She didn't, so the officer tased her. And the cop is an idiot? What are you smoking?

 Unintentional but I guess postcount +++++...

so when the officer threatened to charge her with disorderly conduct and she decided to turn and walk away, he should have told her to stop and grabbed (sorry, "touched") her arm? if he had let her go, would she have ended up in handcuffs? seems to me that there were mistakes made on both sides. especially trying to enforce swearing in public. is that even a law? i can see making the request, but if a cop called me to get my kid because she was swearing, id have his motives checked by his superiors

And I would have to question your parenting skills.

you can question it all you want, i see the girl in the wrong also. i also see where this whole situation could have been avoided if the officer wasnt being a dick. the disrespect the girl showed to the younger children around was bad, but not taser-worthy. the disrespect shown to the officer may have warranted a bit of lecture, but she didnt get hard to handle or violent until he grabbed her and stopped her from leaving, after he told her to. if you cant see that, i pity you. im not special, so i dont think im reading special code into it or anything. plain as day right there in the quoted story.

The girl should have just shut her trap and walked off after being lectured by a cop who was just trying to maintain the peace in some neighborhood. At the same time, I don't see why the cop grabbed her arm and didn't think that it would just provoke a girl like that.

The swearing didn't get the girl tased. Taking a swing at the cop and resisting arrest got her tased.

The girl is very lucky. The cop could have said, "I was in fear for my life and the lives of others" and shot the girl in the head, dead. No questions asked.

she reacted poorly to his action of "touching" her arm and telling her to stop, after he told her he wa going to arrest her for disorderly conduct if she didnt stop. she stopped, turned and tried to leave. thats when he "touched" her arm and told her to stop. id say her swinging at him was wrong too, but he provoked it also and needs to share some of that blame for doing stupid things. badge doesnt give carte blanche to do whatever he wants, even if it is a 14 yr old girl with a bad mouth.

and hopefully she got punished when she got home. i doubt it, but i really hope she did. i dont think shes a victim at all in this, i think she got what her reactions deserved. the cop could have kept it all from happening tho.

The teenager then cursed the officer, Spellman said. The officer told the girl that he would charge her with disorderly conduct if she continued the tirade. As she started to walk off, Spellman said, the officer told her to stop and touched her arm.

This is the only part that is unclear. Did the girl rebelliously walk off? Did the officer need to touch her?

Despite that, I'm sure as hell not going to allow some journalist to me what "really" happened.

bwahaha!

a fully grown man, trained in not only hand-to-hand combat, but also in crowd control afraid of a beligerent 14 yr old unarmed girl. hope he has a knife or an untraceable .25 in his sock to plant on her corpse. that would be as likely to pass IRL as it does in the movies.

good, i'm pretty sure i know exactly what kind of girl this was. the kind that can ruin a movie for you in the movie theatre, thinking it's cool for them to talk all loud and cuss the entire time.

She was walking away from the cop.. The cop originally yelled at her to stop cursing..

WTF.. It's a free country. Fucking curse if you want to. Cops don't get to stop you. There's no law that says you have to be nice around kids.

Now.. I don't think that cursing around kids is a good idea.. And, I think maybe the cop had good intentions. But, it is her goddamn fucking right to curse all goddamn day if she pleases.

She did not need to be tased. I'm sick of cops that believe they are the law.

And.. 'disorderly conduct' WTF is that? It's your right to be disorderly just as long as you are not infringing on other peoples' rights.

There's no 'right to not hear curse words.' Otherwise, I want my 'right to not hear Spanish.'

I'm just glad the parents were sensible enough to not make a lawsuit out of this. They realized their daughter was in the wrong and could have prevented the whole situation more so than the cop.

No, it is not. There is no such thing as a right to curse. Hence, the disorderly conduct.

Something similar happened in Michigan many years back. A moron was at a public lake beach and jumped in some cold water and proceeded to drop f-bombs at the top of his lungs for about 5 minutes or so. He was arrested for disorderly conduct as well.

You'd have to be pretty stupid to think that a 14 year old would require a tazering, short of her actually having a weapon on her. She presented no danger to the cop, hell, a 14 year old wouldn't present a danger to ME.

The cop is a god damn pussy. Here's what you do to a little girl. Pick her up, PUT HER IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE SQUAD CAR, AND LET HER KICK ALL THE RAGE OUT OF HER SYSTEM IF SHE WANTS.

Jesus christ, it's like a game for you people, isn't it? It's so f-ing funny to see people get tazed for no reason, isn't it? "Don't taze me, bro! Don't taze me, bro! LAWL" (shit, that guy wasn't even kicking, he was just talking) What is wrong with you? Would you also like to see your 7 year old kid get tazed for being unruly? Uh oh, the 7 year old is kicking and screaming, better taze it.

I don't think hearing a different language is comparable to hearing cussing.

From Georgia's Disorderly Conduct law:
(2) Without provocation, uses obscene and vulgar or
1-30 profane language in the presence of or by telephone to a
1-31 person under the age of 14 years which threatens an
1-32 immediate breach of the peace;
Seems to me what she was doing could be considered a misdemeanor.
