I'm sure that soon we will hear how Trump really wanted to release the transcript but won't now because the Dems are being mean to him. I mean they ruined his really good day yesterday! Why would he cooperate with them? He is going to take his ball and go home and tweet some mean things about them doo-doo heads.

I am a little worried that this whole thing might be a honey pot. I've been theorizing for a while now that Trump and the GOP was going to set up a trap to make it look like a open and shut case for impeachment that then leads nowhere so that Trump can 'prove' his Witch Hunt theory.
Remember all the talk about crisis actors around every event bad for the GOP? When the GOP accuses other people of something it is because they thought of doing it first.

Yeah, impeach the mother fucker.

President Donald Trump, in a midsummer phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, asked him to look into why that country’s top prosecutor apparently had ended an investigation of the business dealings of Joe Biden’s son, who served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.

“(Then-Vice President Joe) Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution, so if you can look into it, It sounds horrible to me,” Trump told Zelenskiy during the 30-minute July 25th phone call.

A transcript of the call was made public Wednesday by the Trump administration under pressure from Democrats who have launched a formal impeachment inquiry to determine whether the president sought the help of a foreign leader to boost his campaign.

The president’s phone call — made from the White House residence to Zelenskiy — lasted for 30 minutes and began with Trump congratulating Zelenskiy on his election victory.

Later, Trump veers into the Biden issue.

“I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down, which is really unfair,” Trump says on the call, according to the transcript.

Trump then says, “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, what Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that, so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great.”

“Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution, so if you can look into it, It sounds horrible to me,” Trump said on the call, according to the transcript.

That is the only mention in the call about Biden. The call transcript is five pages.

Zelenskiy replies that he’s appointing a new prosecutor who will “look into the situation.”

This whole thing just reflects the utter stupidity of Trump and Administration. Trump’s entire premise on the phone call is flawed—there was no investigation into Hunter Biden. There was an investigation into Burisma and how the oligarch who founded it likely siphoned off taxpayer money for his own benefit (later hiding it in Cyprus.)

Biden, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, and other world leaders asked to have the prosecutor general fired because he wasn’t doing *enough* to fight corruption—Shokin was actually slow walking the investigation into Burisma and effectively buried a U.K. investigation into the Burisma founder.

Trump literally committed an impeachable offense because he believed some bullshit he heard on Fox News. Congratulations for getting Trump impeached Hannity!!

Edit: Reposting this link someone shared in another thread—fast forward to February 2015 and read from there.

For the record, I have my doubts on whether what Hunter Biden/Devon Archer were doing with Rosemont Seneca was fully above board. Sounds like a typical case of a corrupt entity hiring someone with access and credentials to appear less corrupt. But there is no record of any investigation (either in the US or Ukraine) into Hunter Biden.

ALso, this is not a transcript. It's another Barr-like memo.

1. It turns out it's not actually a transcript. It's "the notes and recollections of Situation Room Duty Officers and NSC policy staff assigned to listen and memorialize the conversation in written form as the conversation takes place".

2. It's *still* damning as hell.

I see the president also explicitly asked Zelensky to work with Barr. Barr should recuse himself immediately from this investigation. I mean, he won't. But he should.

I want to quote this to make sure everyone sees, and then quote it again.

The document, declassified by Trump a day earlier, indicates the call – which Trump made from the White House residence -- took place July 25 from 9:03 a.m. to 9:33 a.m. A notation on the memo says it does not represent a "verbatim transcript" but is based on "notes and recollections" of those listening and memorializing the call. It is still presented in transcript form.

Is this real life or a shitty mob boss movie?

The whole transcript is a nothingburger, they say, and it shows a perfectly normal call, nothing bad in it, nope, everything's fine.

So that's the angle. Commit wrongdoing right out in the open and pretend it's not wrongdoing.

It goes deeper than that. This now forces the Democrats to pursue impeachment, and inevitably damages Biden. That he is not denying the phone call, and even admits the basic premise for it, smells like a honey pot.
