Oh, is Trump just there to help the town clean up, maybe throwing rolls of paper towels at people?

Trump has already tossed out handfuls of ""DE-REGULATIONS"" during his years, and THIS is why the tragedy happened in the first place. We have both tragedies to deal with, the tragedy of the derailment AND the tragedy of Donald Trump ever having been POTUS.
Even Fox News admits that Donald Trump de-regulated railroad safety which lead to this derailment. Even a child can see that it was Donald Trump who caused this accident all by himself.

And besides.... the Biden administration appointees like Pete Buttigieg can not spend all their time running around trying to fix the crap that the Trump administration created because the Biden administration would never get anything else done.
Donald Trump screwed things up 24/7 for four long F-ing years, remember.... ?

So Trump had the balls to tour Ohio and they didn't seize the opportunity to string him up by his mushroom? This country is fucking lost.

Biden and/or Buttiege should have probably visited. I know the pre-determined Ukraine visit probably threw a wrench into things, but this is now letting Trump control the optics/narrative.

I mean the people there probably would have hated Biden's guts regardless and it won't change any votes that matter, but was probably the right thing to do. To visit now, after Trump, just looks awkward.
Fox would air the picture with the tagline 'Boottiege returns to the scene of the crime!'

The number one way to make sure that the US government doesn't care about your citizens' pain and suffering is to call your city "Palestine."

I've been wondering just how many lawyers and legal teams have swarmed to East Palestine since this occurred.
At least in this case, there's a recognizable figure not in government to help tell the real story on the ground. From the sound of it, both state AND feds have been telling residents that it's safe to stay there. I'm not entirely convinced that's true, but I'm not the environmental scientists making those calls.

I said early on Pete should have visited the EP early on not because it would have helped but we know those people are into image and gestures. Politically it would have taken the talking point off the table

For the record the previous Sec of Transportation made exactly zero visits to derailment sites

The lawyer to resident ratio is undoubtedly greater than 1.0

What have Republicans proposed to help alleviate future derailments especially when carrying hazardous materials?

Hearings?
Regulation proposals?
More Trump water?
Haul Norfolk Southern into Congress?

The only I've seen is the right making gay slurs against Pete B. because he didn't personally show up on the first day.

It's called Governing. Have they done any of it?

Auditing Pete’s travel seems to be the extent of it.

Fox on a full our propoganda war to blame Biden. Not Norfolk Southern who actually caused the derailment. Not Mike Dewine who initially REFUSED help from the federal government.

But the guy who showed up to pass out campaign hats, his own brand of water and deregulated the rail industry really cares.
Biden sending millions to Palestinians but doesn't care about East Palestine, Ohio, Levin says (msn.com)

Fox claiming it's Bidens fault not the rail company.

If you go to places like these, it's actually really amazing how (and I don't necessarily mean this in a derogatory way) backwards they really are. They feel like they are in some weird time warp bubble from the outside world, and are stuck in some Hill Valley-esque world where no one has ever left, and time has stood still. It's really amazing in a concerning kind of way. And it's not really a unique situation either.

Welcome to my shitty little hamlet. And most of the shitty little towns in my state. Bunch of fuck-knuckled idiots stuck 60 years in the past and railing against any and all change and/or progression.

Republican proposes that woke railroading is causing derailments...not cheap ass corporations cutting safety expenditures for maximum profits at any cost.

I haven't a fucking clue how these nitwits rationalize these kinds of statements and ideas in their minds, or who they convince with them other than their fellow sycophants. Such idiocy.
