Right... the video audio is undoubtedly mono.
No way to determine left or right.

The raw video link above has the sound coming from slightly to the left from my earbuds when the engine noise is made. You can see the acceleration of the blue vehicle as well as after it passed around Ward as confirmation.

Wow, clever. Thanks for your brilliant insight. You're utterly, completely, cluelessly, wrong. Sprint cars are set up to turn left. Period. That's what they do. Tires are staggered to give the car a default left turn bias. If you don't understand even that simple concept you should not be arguing in this thread.

I can tell you that you're completely ignorant about the physics of handling. The wheels are turned to the right to properly manage drift. It's called opposite lock. Look it up and try to understand what it does and how/why it's used. They perhaps you'll be embarrassed enough to delete that drivel. The wheels are turned that way to balance the cars natural bias towards oversteer, that is, the front end wanting to dive left while the rear swings right.

Hey dumbass

Mr. Graves also explained that the “revving up” that has been spoken about in a video which surfaced gives a glimpse into the final moments. He said the accident was not what you would think.

“People say that they heard the engine rev up and he gassed it. In a sprint car, the only way to steer is you steer with the rear wheels as much as you do the steering wheel. In my opinion, what he did was he gassed it to turn down away from him.”

I'm starting to believe this statement to be very accurate.

In an official police statement, the driver of car #45 admitted not seeing Ward until a second before swerving to miss him. Stewart was obviously blocked by #45 and wasn't as fortunate. Ward was wearing black on a dimly-lit slippery dirt track (not a paved road) and lost his temper and his life.

Tony knows very well that the rear end will kick out if he guns it, as does every other sprint car driver.

It seems very unlikely that he would gun it to avoid hitting Ward. He knows it will guarantee that he hits Ward.

That's assuming he saw him first. HUGE assumption.

Yea, that's the thing here that has yet to be determined and will factor in hugely in the final outcome, IMHO IF TS saw Ward early he wanted to spray the kid with a little dirt in response to his over-the-top reaction to a minor bump that sent him to the wall. This type of racing is so different than a paved track, your basically picking an angle coming into a turn and then trying to predict how far the ass-end is going to slide and where you will be when it's done. Contact is much more frequent on a dirt track just due to the "nature of the beast". I just don't believe that TS would intentionally hit another driver with his car but I would not put it past him to give the kid a little "dirt shower" that showed his anger at being challenged, again when all the evidence is in we'll have a much better idea of what happened and why.

Same track where Tony caused an accident where a 19 year old girl had her back broken the previous year?

Tony Stewart sprint car wreck leaves young female driver injured

Later that season, Tony was quoted as saying:
"It's my life," Stewart said after he tested the sprint car. "I'm going to live my life. It's nobody else's decision, but mine. I think there are a lot worse things I could be doing with my life than what I choose to do..."

"I still laugh about how big a deal this has all been made," he said in May. "We had Cup drivers get hurt last year. One had a broken wrist, one had a broken back and nobody said anything. It was all minor news.
Interesting...

What I dont understand is why people keep saying Tony's temper got the best of him. We dont even know if tony was mad or not. Yes he wrecked the other driver, but we aren't totally sure he even knew he did it. That type of wreck is one of the most common type of wrecks in any form of racing. Also when the kid came down the track, I dont think tony had time to get that angry with him.

Are you sure that quote is not about his own broken leg that he got in sprint car's last year? You seem to be putting the statement about the girl and tony's quote together, making it seem like he doesn't care if she was hurt.

Just wow. Are you sure you do not work for FOX News or CNN? Talk about taking a quote totally out of context. What you quoted had to do with his own accident where his leg was severely injured and everyone was questioning why he risks driving the sprint cars.

Forgot to link to the original article. I've added that link...

He was injured a week after he caused the accident in which that girl's back was broken... He seems to express himself pretty clearly:

Of course, that's consistent with Stewart's Crew Chief's initial response to the recent fatality. When asked if Tony was going to race the next day: "Greg Zipadelli, called it "business as usual."

Minor news?
Business as usual?

As I said, interesting.

Linked to original article for anyone that wants more context.

Risks running over and killing other people?

What a hero!

Just stop. You are trying to link things that have nothing to do with each other. How is anything you linked interesting? You clearly have no idea at all about racing (as many other idiots who have posted in the thread).

As for 'business as usual", that was not a quote of Tony Stewart yet everyone wants to imply that he said it.

From Slate:
The existential threat of sponsors leaving is more acute than it would be in other sports such as golf or tennis,” Depkin said. Unless Stewart faces charges, or a sudden wave of outrage from NASCAR fans, it’s not a good bet that his top sponsors will leave his side. Still, the companies involved have a troubling moral dimension to consider: If it does ever start to look like Stewart lost his cool, or simply acted recklessly, before running down Ward, they won’t just be responsible for supporting him financially. They’ll be responsible for keeping him on the track.

Like or dislike Tony Stewart. Doesn't matter to me.

My interest is in the impact of Stewart's actions, and his words, on NASCAR's product and NASCAR's sponsors....

"Dumb little [expletive]...I'm gonna bust his ass" - Tony Stewart

"We got rid of some dead weight earlier this week" - Tony Stewart

Based on these quotes I found Tony has pretty much admitted to premeditated murder!

looks like someone gambled and someone lost.

but from the clips and basic physics, it looks like Tony was trying to win the pissing match, and made an error in judgement.

Hopefully this is sarcasm...

Otherwise, Gumby couldn't make that stretch.

That's idiotic. It's a race track. He's not driving to work at 6am, sleepy, and trying to shave in his car. There's a yellow caution flag on the track. He didn't pick that time grab his cell phone and texting his friends about what he did last night. If you think any race car driver could be so unaware as to not see a person walking on the track, while going at city driving speeds...

That's going to be the truth that everyone strongly suspets, but only Stewart will know for certain. All Nascar can really do is make up some changes/new rules for getting out of your car.

So this thread is pretty much about just arguing with trolls now? I know that isn't unusual for OT I am just surprised so many non-trolls are getting caught up in it.
