To the OP, I haven't read the entire thread, but I have a suggestion. Instead of using a CC, just get bigger student loans. They are at lower rates, and when you apply for a mortagae or car loan, they can be treated differently than CC debt.

I pay all my bills (car, insurance, cell phone, food, gas, books, entertainment, etc etc). I have $XXXX in my checking account and pay off all 3 cards at the end of the month (except for my 0% interest stuff :p)

It can be done easily, you are just a douche.

Not everyone has the ability to get grants/scholarships/minimal loans. And aren't loans a type of debt anyway? So someone used credit cards instead. big deal.

What he said. Loans are not the same thing as financial aid and pretty much anybody with a pulse will qualify for one of many student loans at much lower interest rates than the a$$ raping 15 to 20% APR you get on a credit card AND with most of them, you don't have to start paying them off till you actually graduate.

Personally, I could care less if you have credit card debt or not. It affects me none to the whit. But if you want to be considered financially savy you should look at other lower interest types of loans, be it student loans, finding another credit card with a 6 month/12 month/whatever 0% promotional period, whatever.

Loans are a necessary part of our society nowadays. How you manage your debts however shows how financially in control you are. Take it from somebody who's more than likely a little (maybe a lot) older than you are. You always grow in to your income. You're always going to feel like you don't have enough money, no matter how much you make. How you learn to balance your finances now will go a long way towards your financial future. I learned mine in college, when I too accumulated some credit card debt. Never again for me. It was a painful lesson that still haunts me to this day.

Best of luck to you.

credit cards are crazy

I can't remember when I bought my second 2005FPW and I still haven't paid for it yet because I used my old Capital One card. Transferred the balance to a new Citi card. Fun stuff, gotta pay it off soon though.

for me, if i can't afford to pay it off NOW, i woudln't buy it. especially for something i don't need. and a 2005fpw, no matter how sexy it is, isn't something i need.

i hope the OP is not like you...

OP does have 3 rigs though...hmmm....

Actually, I don't have one anymore, sold it, still have the desktop and the laptop though.

That makes no sense. If you were able to pay off $20K in CC debt before any significant about of income started coming in, then you were stupid for running it up in the first place.

NO, you're just stupid for making assumption that I was able to pay off my debt without any significant income.
NO, I said "real job". I was working 2-4 days/week serving at Disney and I was able to pay off my debt. So no, I don't considered that a real job.

You aren't making ends meet, you are pulling them farther apart.

at 0% rate for life!

Meanwhile, the $12,000 is sitting at ING making 3%!

Nah, that will just put you in more debt when you pay my medical bills. And I have nothing against you personally so I'd hate to see that happen.
