Looks like Bruce at TigerDirect took care of me very well. Here's a piece from an email to me:

Hank,

after a bit of follow up, it seems that the sales rep cancelled part of the order by mistake. to make good on this, we will be sending you a unit at no charge.
again, I apologize for the problem & we will make it up to you. Please allow 1 week to 10 days to receive, as we are awaiting shipment from the vendor.

thanks, we do appreciate your business.

Holy Cow! I finally recieved my SD card today and its the 11/11 today! shizzy I only have 4 days to get it post-marked- I don't liked being rushed...

I hope you guys all got your memory already because the 15th is approaching very fast...

Thats outstanding! To be honest, if we are going to have a direct contact person who can get things done if things go bad, I feel more comfortable ordering from them.

i got my stuff last week and havent had all the bad experiences with tigerdirect that everyone has been mentioining..

I bought the PNY g3 ti200 about a month ago with that "possible" rebate and just got confirmation that the rebate is being sent out. I dealt with them 3 times--the memory stick being my third and they worked to satisfy me. maybe they're starting to get a lil better...let see if these other rebates actually come to us

mine still haven't shipped, so I sent an e-mail to cancel and refund my credit card, lets see how that works out....probably the last time I buy from Tiger Defunct. If they were to ship today I wouldn't recieve them for a day or two or five(after sat. and sun.) after the rebate ends.

1) I apologize for the problems & lack of communications - there is no excuse for this. Your order has not been cancelled.
2) We will ship the SD & the Memory Stick asap (today) & are still awaiting a new shipment of the CF.
3) you should be able to submit the rebate for the first 2 items by 11/15 with no problem (I am shipping overnight)
4) The vendor will extend the deadline on the CF rebate - & the invoice will have the url to get the new rebate form once this ships. Again, your rebate will be honored by the vendor.
5) If there are any other issue's or problems - please do not hesistate to contact me directly & I will ensure they are taken care of immediately.

Unfortunately, it's too late. I think the deadline was 11/15.
There should be links to it on the first page of the thread.

I would say in addition to contacting TD, you also make sure to let the Better Business Bureau know too: BBB complaint contact. But before you even get so far as to order, go look @ their resellerratings and the complaint lists on them @ BBB. Better yet, start @ this other thread: Thread in Forum Issues.

As long as Bruce is there, I'll order from them. He was very professional and courteous. Tiger needs to have their employees trained directly by Bruce. But don't expect any miracles or way-out-of-the-way requests from him. He is human.

I really need to change my name...

There's nothing in this email that suggets oversight. It seems more premeditated to me. Something was wrong with this company that involved management and owners, not just bad employees.

Has anyone heard anything about these rebates yet? This is the oldest rebate I have pending and the rebate form says 4-6 weeks for processing. Mine was sent Nov. 11.

Yea right. Do a archived thread search for Magicbrillo AKA. Bruce and see how he was pimping tiger direct stuff in Hot Deals. Nothing like trying to get around paying for advertising. Wonder what name he is going by now.

If anyone has a problem with a TD order, contact this guy. If he doesn't resolve it, post it here, if he does, post it here too. Since he posted this contact info on the forum issues thread about them advertising, it seems he's squared everyone away with whats come up. He's not giving away money to compensate for previous poor tigerdirect service, but he's fixing current screwups that a customer has issues with, etc.

I'll order from them as long as his reputation stays solid and he fixes peoples problems, but if those who got burned before and choose to never order from them again, thats understandable too.

I spoke with IO Data regarding the MS rebate and they said they were cutting checks yest. and today. They said they got a more overwhelming response than anticipated so was taking them longer. She said that we should receive it within the next 2 weeks.

Hopefully this helps for people who bought IO-Data stuff

no rebate for me either... damn its been almost 13 weeks now! I better have mine within 2 weeks like the guy above me said or else I'm going to have to crash some heads at tigerdirect and I-O data. :)
