Tigerdirect: 64MB Memory Stick, CompactFlash, or Secure Digital all free after rebate - Thursday Only!

This is so hot!!!
Seems that we can order them NOW. But the rebate forms state that "purchase must be made on Oct 31". Does that mean, if I order now, it will not be elligible for the rebates?

$9.47 shipping for me. How could mailing something so small cost so much in shipping. Not so hot unless you could really use one of these, or you're ordering something else anyways.

Do the math...1) its tiger direct 2) it a tiger direct rebate......i.e. buy it tomorrow! 😉

Anyone ever get rebates back from this company, I-O Data?

There is another thing that is sad or fishy. it doesn't provide a phone number or web address for checking rebate status. be alert to it. I used to buy several rebate items without phone number or web address. They didn't come and i could not do anything about it.

If the rebate gets fulfilled, its still hot...you'll never get one of these for $10 anywhere else at this point.

Its sleazy to charge $10 shipping tho. :frown:

i want to buy each of the 3 kinds of memory. but the rebate policy is obscure. "can not be combined with other offers, RABATES,..." does it mean that we can only one type of memory?
also, the rebates all require "original" receipt. then we have to buy one item for one order and pay $10 shipping for each item???
dang, it's getting sour!

I think I'm going to pass. The other rebates for their flash memory are all done through RebatesHQ.com and not "I-O Data". No phone number or website contact info...so the risk of this being a hassle isn't worth it to me.

Has anyone else noticed this on the rebate form?

"$30 Cash Rebate by Mail when you buy the I-O Data Device Memory Card ?MSR-64M" and ?PCSD-64MS? from TigerDirect.com"

They used an "AND" instead of an "OR", so the title sounds like you need to buy both to get the rebate.
I'm sure it's just a grammar mistake, but if the rumors I've heard about TigerDirect are true... maybe not!

I was just talking to a buddy of mine that works in Tiger Marketing and he told me that they're selling about 500 an hour of these things. Better hurry before they're gone.

No it doesn't, it says "or". 😕

It says "and" in the rebate title of the PDF (I copied and pasted that directly).
Link to rebate PDF

It does say "or" in fine print, so I'm sure it was just a mistake in the title.
I hope so anyway!

Those may not be "rumors". Beware.

You're right I see what you mean, thx for clarifying.

However - another warning !

The rebate says "must be postmarked by November 14, 2002" and you have to enclose the UPC, so you have to receive it by November 14th - some of us are a week by UPS from where they ship, UPS sometimes screws up and adds a day or two, and who knows how long Tiger will take to ship out?

Also, the Memory Stick is now "Temporarily Out of Stock - ships in 7-14 days" meaning if you add that one to your cart, you are sure to miss the rebate.

Yeah, it's always some little something with this outfit. TigerDirect is a shoddy company. They utilize unethical and deceptive business practices as well as sell your private data without your permission. Speaking of deceptive, the moderator has removed their company name from the locked ad thread above; now you don't know it's a TD ad until you waste the time to click on it and see the name. About as bad as a f**kin' pop-up, maybe even more annoying in a forum like this one.

hmm.. I ordered the SD at 2am EST (they are on est time as well) and whent to lookup my order now and it said back ordered. It might be a possibility that someone ordered shat loads (and boy will they be surprised when they cant get the rebates to work on most of them) but this pretty much kills the deal befor anyone got a chance to use it. :/ im still debating weather to kill the order.. I might beable to get it intime for the rebate.. and $38 for 64 megs of SD isnt all that bad reguardless of the sale.
