Got mine coming, ya'll shoulda woke up earlier this morning, I ordered mine at 08:00 and got the confirmation less than an hr after that. I woulda posted it up this morning, but I got the info through an e-mail from their "prefered cust. list" and I didn't know wether or not everyone would get the same deal. On my rebate forms in plane print after the word Important: it says....

"This rebate is valid only when the Memory Stick 64MB, model MSR-64M or Secure Digital Memory Card 64MB, model PCSD-64MS is purchased from TigerDirect.com. So if you buy one of each, print out 2 rebates, and mail them with the upc's seperatly and you shouldn't have any problems, I did this deal last time it went around with the 32MB parts, and it's pretty much the exact same rebate form as last time. Take note that theCFS-64M uses a different rebate form entirely.

loba, which ones did you order? Like I said, I ordered the SD one at 2am, thats.. 6 hours before you (if we are in the same time zone), and mine is backordered.

I ordered mine at 12:04 am in TigerDirect's timezone and mine is backordered. I just called them up and they assured me that they have been in contact with I/O Data and people in this situation will get their rebates. The person gave me his name and CSR# in case there are any problems. Since all of my midterms are over I have the time to call him every night if they screw up and complain to him. He better know what he's doing :)

Oh yeah. I ordered the MS and the told me that something like 755 were ordered. Now if they were having this huge sale I'm hoping they would have a few hundred on hand already. He couldn't tell me why mine wasn't shipped even though I had ordered it 5 minutes after the sale started.

MY EXPERIENCE (which was very bad):

I ordered the 64MB SD Memory Card and it was showing as "INSTOCK". I also purchased something else to ride the shipping costs. Their status page has different "levels". Don't be fooled into believeing your item is shipped without looking at all the different "levels". I found out that the 64MB SD Memory Card was "backordered", while the other item(which I didn't really want) had shipped. @ this point, the word "SCREWED" is in my head.

I called Customer Service @tigerdirect, and he tells me that this item is backordered. So I ask him how the heck I'm going to get my rebate postmarked by 11/15 if I don't get my product by then. He clumsily makes up this story about how tiger direct is going to extend the rebate postmark date. End Call.

But then, I remember in our conversation he mentioned something about the product being discontinued and no longer available... strange now that i think of it. So I check the tiger order status page again, and guess what, it shows the 64MB SD Memory Card as "Cancelled". WTheck.

I called Customer Service @tigerdirect again. This time I'm told that the demand was so high that they have to cancel most orders. So I get something I don't want and have to pay shipping for it. "Do I look like a whore?"... "then why are u screwing me twice". Geeze, I will NEVER SHOP @ tigerdirect again.

MAN! I'm still really upset. I should have spent that money on the $14.99 durex condom deal !

Now I'm going to look around the web to do bad ratings on this company (epinions, etc.)

I did register because I couldn't find my old registration or I can't remember if anandtech had a registration like 4 years ago. I was so furious about the bad experience @ tigerdirect so I couldn't wait around to find my original login name. But, really, If I can prevent one other person from repeating my mistake ... that would make my day.

Well maybe you should consider yourself lucky. After reading the link to the BBB report about them they are obviously a shadfy outfit. It's a shame that those in Charge of advertising at AT didn't do their homework before agreeing to let them advertize here.

yep, mine showed up as in process, then changed to backordered this morning, someone at tiger musta goofed, dangit. I ordered 1 of each. They better get here before the deadline to mail the rebates, otherwise tigerdirect is going to be getting a couple of returns.

FYI, I posted this in the OT thread too. I sent Bruce of Tigerdirect an email (per his contact info in Forum Issues post) and here's the correspondence.

Bruce,

I saw your contact information on Anandtech and have a question for you. Regarding those of us who took advantage of the "Free after Rebate" flash memory promotion yesterday, but are receiving "backordered" statuses, how do you suggest that we handle it? Is it up to each individual to 'take the risk' of whether they get it in time to meet the rebate redemption requirements, or will these rebates be guaranteed even if they are late, or should concerned customers be better off cancelling the order? Please advise.

I ordered the 64MB CF card thursday morning at 600 am and it arrived friday afternoon at 300 pm. (Came from Naperville IL to Indianapolis). Talk about fast delivery.

Backordered Memory Sticks shipping! Got my shipment confirmation this morning at 6. I dont know if everyone that was waiting got one but it looks like the rebates shouldn't be a problem unless UPS somehow takes too long. Of course I haven't ruled out the idea that Tiger "accidentally" sent me something else or decided to replace it with something similar(like a different brand) that won't work with the rebate. I'm not going to worry though. Not yet at least.

pleasent surprise today.. ups guy showed up with my SD card. apparently it shipped tues, thenoticed was emailed wed (web server was down so I couldnt check that box), and it arrived today.

now to go email that rebate
