This is the diner around the block from my building. Maple braised pork belly with cornmeal waffle and 2 eggs sunnyside up. Get bent, bowl of cheerios I had for breakfast. 🙁

I agree that Pancakes > Waffles. Particularly, I make a lot of whole wheat pancakes. (Aunt Jemima has a great box mix if you can find it)

I chose that American waffles > than the rest. I had to read the difference between them....they simply win out of convenience. If you're mixing them up in the morning on a whim, no one wants to deal with yeast breads. It's far easier to open a box and let baking powder work its less impressive than yeast magic. I don't own a waffle iron, but have made quite a few when traveling hotels with free breakfast included...so yeah. Those are ALL mix-based waffles....American style. They'll do.

I can't get into the whole maple + meat thing. McDonald's is basically doing this with their Sausage McGriddles. Despite their success, it turns my stomach.

I like a pure separation between maple syrup and meats...which should be salt cured or uncured....instead of sugar cured or braised....unless being served by themselves.

Under no metric is a pancake superior to a waffle.

NONE.

the mere thought defies all logic, as well as the natural laws of the universe. To even suggest such a thing is akin to professing that the sun revolves around a dragon-shaped earth.

It works well with meat. Those Johnsonville Maple Sausages are great.

This means you're not familiar with bacon wrapped dates, stuffed with goat cheese and topped with maple syrup. Its a brave world out there.

*Pours one out for Scarpozzi*

edit: sorry for bacon porn in the waffle thread! We accept bacon, right guize?!

How long till Silver Prime comes in to vomit a page full of images and copypasta walls o' text on the thread to prove that pancakes are superior?
