It just needs to be better than what the progressive left wants for us.
Your fear of American 'progressives' is so cute.

Does it notice projection much?Of course it doesn’t terrify you because in your heart of hearts what you really want is authoritarianism that feeds into your confirmation biases.
Those stories are well documented in reputable news sources.
My barometer is just fine. It correctly identifies authoritarianism independent of tribal allegiance.
They chose to call themselves "deplorables." There were 2 baskets, and those in the deplorable basket (KKK, white supremacists, nazis, etc) actually are deplorable. The MAGAs chose to be, and loudly said they are proud to be, in that same basket with those bonafide deplorables. And then act shocked and offended when people think they are one of those "very fine people"... typical.Well that’s a chicken and egg thing. When you have coastal liberals constantly looking down on the “fly over states”, with Democrat candidates dismissing then as “deplorables”, and also categorizing military service as “white welfare” for states that hold service in high regard, it is no surprise that they gravitated towards the pied piper candidate that promised to stigginit.
You're disgusting. It just needs to be better than what the progressive left wants for us.
It's fucking shameful is what it is. Tantamount to treason.Making the case that America should not be exceptional from the MAGA side of the aisle is chef kiss beautiful.
The irony is that we just had 8 years of 'progressive left' rule and the only thing we got out of it was a booming capitalist economy.Your fear of American 'progressives' is so cute.

What he's saying is that he'd rather have America ruled by a hostile foreign power, which is itself ruled by a corrupt kleptocratic dictator, than to see an America ruled by the Democrats.
That's how much Glenn hates his own country.
My point is that his fears about the 'progressive left' are obviously unfounded. It wasn't even that. The GOP achieved a blocking position when Ted Kennedy died & reinforced it throughout Obama's terms.
And Americans who don't think exactly as he thinks. The irony is that we just had 8 years of 'progressive left' rule and the only thing we got out of it was a booming capitalist economy.

He found a way... Hate.My point is that his fears about the 'progressive left' are obviously unfounded.
Was it eight years of progressive rule or eight years of unprecedented obstructionism? Or is it both, depending on the narrative du jour? The irony is that we just had 8 years of 'progressive left' rule and the only thing we got out of it was a booming capitalist economy.

They are deplorable, but the term extended to the consescending dismissal of red state and blue dog America, which Trump weaponized as a rallying cry. They chose to call themselves "deplorables." It wasn't 8 years of commie pinko socialist sharia law where the govt took our guns, herded us into FEMA camps, and forced us to speak Spanish. Which is about the only reality that I can think of that would be worse than being ruled from Moscow. Was it eight years of progressive rule or eight years of unprecedented obstructionism? Or is it both, depending on the narrative du jour?

The actual quote, in context (should you ever bother), was only 'condescending' because of Trump's weaponization of it.They are deplorable, but the term extended to the consescending dismissal of red state and blue dog America, which Trump weaponized as a rallying cry.
The real problem isn't callers like her, it's the Republicans in Congress who'd listen and agree with her.
This.It just needs to be better than what the progressive left wants for us.
No, the origin is actually from a different quote:The actual quote, in context (should you ever bother), was only 'condescending' because of Trump's weaponization of it.
That the MAGA's allowed this weaponization, and chose to be in the same company as those genuinely deplorable people, is quite telling all by itself.
As is the overtly treasonous statement made by the MAGA in the OP, and the fact that all the MAGA's appear to agree with it, yourself included.
That suggests she's the source of the problem when IMO the fact is that she's a useful idiot.
You're disgusting.
No, the origin is actually from a different quote:
"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Democrats have such short memories.
Obama, the same as Trump, beat Clinton by going after her trustworthiness, and Trump, like Clinton, blew certain dog whistles to rally white voters. The only difference is that Trump got help from Russia to undermine Clinton and used a bullhorn instead of a dog whistle to rally angry white voters.
While Obama did not use the term “deplorable”, the condescending tone and intent was the same, and ironically Clinton ran to their defense and made it her rallying cry in a last ditch effort to hold Pennsylvania, a state Trump carried by using the same playbook.
