Maybe exactly the point, since in some ways we are all a minority of one, one has to learn that the mission of leadership is not to impose your own narrow views on everyone else.
Kennedy did that when he declared that even as a catholic, he would not let the Pope run his public policy, Huckabee, who may be a certified Grade A religious nut, still was a very good Governor because he did not not let his private religious views influence public policy, and its also the position of the United States Constitution.
If one is solely ruled by religion, maybe you can advance in the leadership of your own church, but one sadly is somewhat self disqualified from secular public leadership.
