It's fast enough until you get used to it 🙂

hehe yeah...on my bike im starting to wish i had a little more power. i like the new ninja1000 a lot. i really hope yamaha redesigns the FZ1 to compete with it better.

still, it probably wouldnt be until i've paid off my current bike that i'd upgrade.

This. Your own car never feels fast enough in the driver seat. The only sense of acceleration you have in your own car is either the size of the grin or the shade of green on your passenger's face.

That is what I'm feeling with my Camaro now. 🙁 I want to be able to spin my 275s through at least third. I get too much traction 🙁

No you don't. Spinning sucks. Might be fun at first, but it gets old having to pedal and struggle just to keep up with cars with 1/3 your power up to 60 before you can stomp it.

I think you're out of order on your mods

I would do this set first:
Long tube headers
LS9 cam
Cat-back exhaust
Custom Dyno tuning

After that, start screwing with the other stuff.

😀

I wish I could spin my 245's...

...so I could get 275's instead. :awe:

It's supercharged. A pulley is going to be the single most beneficial mod of all. Typically you start with simply a pulley and tune where you will see the biggest increase. Then do intake, exhaust, and cam as support mods as they become restrictions at higher boost levels.

And while a cam is a huge mod on a standard LS series naturally aspirated engine, it's much less of a mod when the cylinders are being force fed. In fact too much cam is a bad thing on a supercharged car as you just boost your fuel/air charge right out the exhaust valve on the top of the exhaust to intake stroke.

Yeah I understand what you guys are feeling. I just got accustomed to ridding my 50cc moped around and now I want a 70cc. WTF?!?! Am I gonna want a real motorcycle next?!?!

The car is supercharged. Usually things that 'touch' the supercharger and intake (with the supporting tune) give the best bang for buck. D3Cadillac.com has some 'power level' builds and cams and headers come a bit later.

They want to sell you meth injection at 160hp+?

Seems like overkill to me...I'd be pretty disappointed if it was really necessary.

DOH! Forgot it was S/C

my bad

Then it's time to get wider tires! And the circle continues. :awe:

Reliability...when you have paid $50k+ for your daily driver you don't want to keep on redoing the same jobs you did the day before.

meth or alky injection is awesome for a forced induction motor. lets you run boost levels and WOT timing that would ordinarily require race gas. ive run alky on my grand national before. nothing like driving around town with 24lbs of boost on 91 gas 😀

all it takes is to be the victim of a broken ring land once due to detonation and you'll swear by whatever it takes to stop that economically.

Best bet is to go forged or good hypers if you don't like the knock on startup...not everyone wants to spend the dough on a new engine rebuild.

Are you talking about piston slap? How would replacing cast pistons with forged pistons (of the same crown shape) affect knock?

160hp on top of 550hp already? Pretty large jump.

If a Cobra can put down over 600whp on 91, I'd expect newer technology to be able to do the same. I don't disagree that it's a great safety net, but I'm a bit surprised to see it there.

I'm quite familiar - I'm considering it after I move out west since I'll go from good 93 to CA 91. 🙁

Because if you spend $10k on your daily driver, you do want to keep on redoing the same jobs you did the day before? 🙄

Why would you buy a CTS-V, spend money to upgrade it, and include a K&N filter that lets in an absurb amount of dust into your engine?
