Many of the people I follow are saying basically this—the Admin doesn’t even need to beg Congress as they have other “non-emergency” avenues to skirt this decision and impose the same tariffs on a temporary or semi-permanent basis.Big deal, he'll just ignore it.
And when companies claim their money back, they won't lower prices back to pre tariff prices
Seeing a lot of chatter about Section 122/301 of the 1974 Trade Act, Section 338 of the 1930s era Tariff Act—all of which are still on the books and many of which have never been used before (ie no legal precedent against their use so SCOTUS can throw him a bone.) Oh…and he can always use the “national security” excuse.
