So I guess he is still miffed at the trade deal with China? loooooooooooooool.

Talks with Vance behind the curtains on a 25th deal?
A trade deal with China? China right now would start a commercial war first if the USA goes too cocky and Trump is one of that kind!

The amount of stupidity and evil of Maga that is so well-rounded is insane. They have literally not one redeeming quality. Even Mussolini wanted to make the trains run on time.

I guess you haven't been traveling outside US?
Yes, have you? Most recently to the UK and the Republic of Ireland in 2025. Of course I was able to thrive and have a successful career in the greatest country in the world. Try posting your hate of leaders and leaders as a resident in any other country about their government and see how that works. No other county has a constitution like the USA, a bill of rights, where freedom of speech does not exist in even a close way.

Sure, I spend most of my time outside US, only been there for three weeks. But it does seem like your constitution does a good job of keeping corruption at government levels to a minimum making sure that you can't buy influence and use the state to suppress its own citizens.
Not like the socialist dictatorship I live in, here in Denmark.
I wake up every day and envy US, when I see how well everything is going for you compared to where I live. I wish I had your freedom instead of the suppression I feel every day. I wish you would take over Denmark along with Greenland so we could be the 52nd state.

pfffft.... Australia is the greatest country in the world....

In the USA we get different search results than someone that lives it what is otherwise a great county, might get.

Australia does not have a constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech like many other democracies.

Can you call your leaders Hitler or is that hate speech that will get you arrested? though so. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people though.

And which of those countries have anything close to the constitutional freedoms of the USA?
Well, then we'll have to discuss what the fundamental cause for having a constitution is.

I would think that Germany and Japan probably have some of the most robust constitutions, since they were made after WWII with the basic principle of not being able to to dismantle democracy and secure the three legislative branches from being mixed together, while securing freedom of speech and human rights.

But let's see how your midterm elections go and how your freedom is being handled with ICE roaming the streets.

You have mentioned the weirdest thing to hang your hat on in terms of 'greatness'. You have may individual rights. In Australia we have a limit of governmental power in our Constitution.

And given what is happening in your beautiful country atm with how ICE is behaving, I believe we have the right balance in our Constitution.

It's not uncommon to hear people in Australia talk about their 'right to freedom of speech'. However, many people are surprised to learn that the Australian Constitution contains no such right. Rather, our Constitution provides for an 'implied freedom of communication' about government and political matters. The implied freedom isn't an individual right — it restricts laws which interfere with free communication about government and politics.

And I don't believe that calling an Australian pollie Hitler or a Nazi, as long as its not in a racial context, is a criminal offense.

I respect your difference of opinion though 🙂

Hi Spidey! 1771344031995.png

High tariffs causing economic disruption.

... (midsize) companies that employ a combined 48 million people in the U.S. — the kinds of businesses that Trump had promised to revive — have had to find ways to absorb the new expense, by passing it along to customers in the form of higher prices, employing fewer workers or accepting lower profits.

Hopefully my area will be okay economically due to all of the diversification. The crew launch this morning was beautiful. The airport is growing. We have DoD contractors. Port Canaveral. Good luck to other counties.
I remember when I first hired on to the company I retired from, staying at the old and tired Sea Missile motel, that is no longer at Cocoa Beach just across from this little surfboard and tee shirt shop called Ron Jons. Was going to classes at the NOTU training facility on the Cape Canaveral base to learn how the Data Acquisition subsystem worked for the Trident submarine and how to run the diagnostics and repair it. One late afternoon, a roar started and I ran out to see what jet was going over when looking east, there was this flaming thing shooting up and getting even louder. The sun was starting to go low in the sky and at staging this beautiful fan of colors radiated in a huge vaporous vail with the sun lighting it all up. It was a UK C4 pad shot using their own upper stage. During another visit to that facility, I was lucky enough to see a shuttle launch from not that far away. Wow, talk about a gut vibrator. Ah memories.

One of us! 😀

We used to get are Levi's for back to school at Ron Jon's because his prices kicked ass. It had the room with the beach sand in the middle, and the racks of clothes all around it. IIRC that is where the Levi's were? As we got older, it was uncool to go there. We all got our surf gear at Natural Art, Quiet Flight (before it was lame), and we would hang out at Mike Tableing's surf shop in Merritt Square mall for a bit on Friday Nights.

I would park at Natural Art and cross A1A at 27th street when prime spots were crowded. He had a shower outside on the back of the shop so we didn't have to drive home salty.

I watched the orbiter go from the top of the OSB2 across from the VAB and LC a few times. One when FLOTUS Laura Bush came to see the launch. I watched Apollo 17 from the beach in front of our house on 12th street south. My pop woke us up so we could see the night launch. I was a little kid; it was spectacular.

I have been here my whole life, love it here. But the hurricanes may make me a climate refugee before it's over. If only earthlings would have taken man-bear-pig seriously. 😡

It's pretty obvious that free speech only is the prerogative of conservatives. All other speech is false.

Speech is free only if does not threaten certainty. Otherwise you will pay for speaking, one way or another. Fortunately the possession of real knowledge also makes a person profoundly rich and able to easily pay the price.

Waiting to see what the SCOTUS opinion is on tariffs if released today. If they side against Trump I can see if being a VERY narrow opinion and not a broad rejection but who knows. This whole nightmare just needs to end.

This is going to be an absolute disaster. I really hope our treasury does not go bankrupt with having to deal with claims from businesses for tariff relief. Forget lawsuits (only the biggest companies can afford those anyway)--I'm talking about writeoffs and the resultant underpayment of Federal taxes that we KNOW that no one in this Administration has planned for.

Democrats hoping for an amazing midterm election result better be wary--there is a slight chance of an economic recover/boon if business and consumer spending increases due to tariffs being struck down. Of course Trump and the Administration and downballot Republican congress critters will take credit for any good economic news between Q2-Q4.

Issue is that the biggest companies will pull that, specially the non US based ones!

This might be a BIG hit on the US economy.
