Tariff Grandpa is awake again giving the people more of what they don’t want.

Trump had a two-diaper blow-out when he heard the SCOTUS ruling. "He shit himself very powerfully. Everyone around him had tears in their eyes!"

He's going to use section 122 of the 1974 Trade Act. Section 122 will allow Trump to reimpose some sweeping tariffs, at least temporarily. It's never before been invoked, representing a historic moment for presidential economic policy. Section 122 was designed to address short-term emergencies, not long-term trade policies. The provision is sweeping, but unlike IEEPA, it limits how long tariffs can be imposed (150 days) and how high the tariffs can be. After the 150-day period, it requires Congress to extend the measures.

He also has section 301, of The 1974 Trade Act, Section 232 of the U.S. Trade Expansion Act of 1962 and section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 to rat fuck the American people with these tariff taxes.

I remember Trump promised to send us all a $2,000 check from the tariffs he collected? So why is he now angry that he actually has to refund that money?

The lamest of lame ducks!

Running out the clock is definitely one of his major strategies.

Still waiting for folks to toss their MAGA hats into the waters off of Miami, Palm Beach, Cape Coral, Panama City etc.—Boston Tea Party style. I think we’ll be waiting a while…

Ummm... It's been happening in South Florida and somewhat on the west coast around Tampa and south. I see it here every day. Many people are disenfranchised and fucking pissed. Central and Northern Florida are still deep MAGA cultists, other than the Orlando area just like any red states with rural populations. Granted, Florida has elected some of the griftiest, shittiest, lame POS politicians in the fucking country's history IMO. Some of the voters are waking up. Palm County where Trump lives voted Harris by almost 6000 votes in 2024. Every time he visits, chaos ensues. A1A and many blocks surrounding Mar A Lardo closed for weeks. Snarled traffic. They are sick of him. Miami just elected the first Dem Mayer in decades. Florida has a long way to go, and it still may be a lost cause, but they are no different than these other red states that are electing Dems. The gnashing of teeth about being duped is real down here. All the Trump loyalists are shitting themselves about the influx of northern and west coast (Californians) relocating here.

I don’t think I’ve paid a tariff yet for any of my small buys.

Count yourself lucky.

My brother just paid a $200+ bill from FedEx last Thursday that represented his wife's small orders accumulated back to October of this past year.

He clearly wasn't amused, judging from all the ranting that he was doing about it.

I just smiled and pointed out that he got what he voted for.

I too have paid tariffs. Great bag maker out in Malaysia called Green Room.

Dear old DHL. The processing fees from the importers and DHL were much higher than the actual tariffs too.

This is all so messy. Didn't 6 out of 9 Supremes just say no, the POTUS cannot impose tariffs, it's not his job? Aren't the voting public unhappy with the extra inflation the tariffs have been creating. Isn't that going to bite the R's in the ass in November? What does DJT have on his mind? What are his "advisors" telling him (the seen ones in his cabinet and the unseen ones, being Project 2025 and his Russian influencers)?

How would you know? The packaging isn't going to say that a tariff is part of your purchase price. I figure I've been shelling out for tariffs my whole life and some for Trump's obsessive tariffs.

For both installing this cosmic disaster, and then refusing to stop him, we must have our vengeance on all of them.

Only under the IEEPA did they rule that he can't tariff. There are other authorities that Trump is now trying to push his bs tax.

It’s likely that the section 122 tariffs will be overruled as well. Even if not, those are temporary and have to have valid justification.

It’s the prerogative of Congress to determine import and export taxes/duties. Not the executive. And the ruling yesterday also states this.

When I order things from overseas they usually specify that they’ll be a tariff that needs to be paid. So far it hasn’t actually happened.

Yes, that still has a good chance of happening, but we're still likely to suffer through the BS while they go through the courts in a new case.

Economist Peter Schiff's Friday report declares Supreme Court Ruling positive for the USA regardless of anyone's take on Trump's tariffs.

After sorting that out he counter's Liar-in-Chief's claim of US being the hottest economy in the world by pointing out and substantiating that the US stock market is currently the worst in the world and that the economic data released this week points to US economy being in stagflation, details how just about every indicator's going in the wrong direction and where all this is likely going.
