I don't think I'd like those temperatures in August Petrus. We had about 12 (c) this morning. Right now it is about 29 (c).

I don't like that temperature either. Slightly too cold. Usually around +6 - +9ºC end of August/beginning September. But: if I am not wrong, we will probably have some more so called "Indian Summer" mid September with sunny and warm weather (+10 - +18ºC) for a week or two. I'll wait for that.

OTOH: the temperature in my computer room has dropped to comfy 22ºC - was 2 weeks ago +27ºC. The computers like that. And in October the temp will be around +20ºC all winter ... and no AC.

BTW: only 56 replies until we hit the record ...

and that depends on whether it's bush, or black bush.
not being a whiskey drinker myself it coud be retching anyway :)

I've tried the Bushmills Black, and didn't care for it much. Straight Bushmills taken neat -- that's how I like it.

I am going to cook off twenty 100% beef burgers on the grille. Then they will be put into an electric roaster with some beef broth and onions on a low simmer all day. It's one of my son's favorite meals.

I'm going to split some firewood. Winter is coming all too soon!

Well I couldn't split all the wood I cut. I managed a little better than half. Mostly red oak. When cutting for the upcoming heating season, I look for standing dead hardwood trees. Mostly red & white oak with some ash and maple. I take what I can find. I like to find a trees that don't need to be split, but I can't be picky. I never cut down live trees unless they are in danger of falling on something valuable.

Quite hard work ... splitting wood requires a really sharp axe, strong shoulders & back and a good eye ...
BTW: I really appreciate your attitude towards trees. :)

I live on the edge of a greenbelt. Unfortunately, trees are wasted on my wife, she's afraid of anything that doesn't fit with her hardwood floors. if it slithers, creeps, crawls, or yodels she's OUT!

oops, got distracted. I came here to mention that I'm eating here tomorrow. High noon. If fmc or any of the rest of you want some free bbq, meet me there at high noon tomorrow. I'll be in the red 2010 dodge ram 4x4 laramie with boerne dodge plates.

btw petrus, it was 34c here today. don't think I'll be running anything in my basement anytime soon :(

We are approaching the length of the "Please delete"-thread: 3258 replies, 13 736 reads.

We need only 47 more posts ... but we have many more reads in this thread (13736 in the Please delete, over 80K in this thread!)! :)

I think we have a count down. But lets have some rules:
1. No serial postings of more then two (2) replies.
2. There has to be a comment - not the number only.
3. The remaining number of replies has to be correct
4. The number has to be last.
5 A smiley has to follow the number.

44.

the bbq was GREAT. sorry, but it really was. if you're ever in texas you must go there.

Oh yea. Rudy's is great. The best one by far is the one outside of San Antonio on I-35 (Austin side). And I just love how they have the huge pepper containers sitting on the table. Oh yea!!! Plus active and ex-military discount! :D

HA! 42! And not even on purpose! MWA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I haven't been to that one since I'm literally just a few miles down i10 from the one in leon springs. I did have lunch with my brother in law at coopers the other day, however. that place was pretty good, too.

35.

I got pulled out of class yesterday. Apparently someone called in and said that a classmate in a boonie hat had a huge 7-8" knife. People at the University Police Department (where I work) figured out it was me. Everyone has been laughing quite a bit about it.
